FF7 Remake INTERmission Trophy Guide and Road Map for PlayStation 5

It is finally here. Final Fantasy VIIR INTERgrade with improved visuals on PlayStation 5! Joining it, there’s an all-new PS5-exclusive two-chapter DLC story featuring Yuffie called INTERmission. Through this FF7 INTERmission Trophy Guide, I hope to help you top up your Final Fantasy VII Remake Platinum with a 100% completion!

Don’t own the FFVIIR Platinum already? Check out our Final Fantasy VII Remake Trophy Guide right here!

To access the INTERmission DLC once purchased, press at the Main Menu to switch over.

Phase One – Collect Turtle Flyers, Become a Fort Condor Grandmaster, and Complete the Story on any Difficulty

You are eventually going to need to beat the game and become a Fort Condor Grandmaster on Hard Difficulty but to unlock that you must beat this side-story on a standard difficulty first. As such, during this first phase of our FF7 INTERmission Trophy Guide, your main focus will be to complete the story.

Along the way, it’s advisable to collect all of the Happy Turtle Flyers and become the Fort Condor Grandmaster, but you will have a second opportunity to earn those during your Hard Difficulty playthrough in phase two of this FF7 INTERmission Trophy Guide.

I would also advise that you do Chadley’s combat simulation battle during Chapter 1 against Ramuh. If you beat it, you’ll get Summon Materia for Ramuh, a powerful god of thunder. Definitely worth having for Hard Difficulty.

Collect All Happy Turtle Flyers: Happy Turtle Flyer Locations

Happy Turtle Flyers act as this DLC’s collectable item, and you will need to find and collect them all in order to earn this trophy:

Turtle-tastic

Collect all the Happy Turtle flyers.

It would be ideal for you to find and collect all of these during your first playthrough. This way, you can avoid needing to worry about them in your Hard Difficulty playthrough. That being said, you’re more than welcome to do this via Chapter Select cleanup, or wait and collect them all in your Hard playthrough.

There are just 6 to collect in total and they’re made easier to find by the fact that a unique jingle plays when you are close to them.

See our Happy Turtle Flyer Locations Guide for all 6 locations.

With all 6 flyers in your inventory, the related side-quest will update, leading you back to Snapper. Bring him the 6 flyers to turn in the side-quest and unlock this trophy!

Become a Fort Condor Grandmaster

Fort Condor was originally a bizarre side-quest section of the 1995 Final Fantasy VII in which you’d need to control troops to defend Fort Condor in a miniature RTS-style gameplay section. In this Remake DLC, however, the section has been converted into an interesting strategy board game.

During this phase of our FF7 INTERmission Trophy Guide, you will need to become a Grandmaster at the game. You will also need to do this again on Hard Difficulty for a separate trophy, so you technically could skip it here and earn both trophies in your second playthrough, but this is a good opportunity for practice and you’ll unlock access to some units and boards which will help a lot in Hard Mode.

Phase Two – Hard Difficulty Playthrough & Fort Condor Again

Now that you’ve completed the DLC’s main story content, it’s time to play through a second time on Hard Difficulty. If there are any trphies fro the first phase that you missed (i.e. Turtle-tastic) then this will be your final opportunity to get them without an extra chapter select cleanup phase.

It is highly recommended that you don’t even attempt Hard Difficulty until you are level 50. Use Chapter Select to fast travel to the start of Chapter 2, where you will find a new Combat Simulator that you couldn’t access before.

Grind the first simulation repeatedly until both characters are at max level. Then and only then would I recommend playing the game on Hard Difficulty.

Ultimate Weapon 2.0

Defeat the Pride and Joy Mk 0.5.

After reaching level 50 in the Combat Simulator, don’t leave yet. Complete the first two challenges in the Combat Sim to unlock the third; “Yuffie and Sonon vs. Top Secrets.”

Yuffie and Sonon vs. Top Secrets can only be played on Hard Difficulty, and you will need to defeat Bahamut (& Ifrit), then Ramuh, and finally the Pride and Joy Mk 0.5.

This battle is incredibly difficult and will take quite a bit of skill and practice, but if you succeed you will receive two Gotterdammerung items which you can use to make Hard Difficulty a lot easier, so I recommend doing this before attempting a Hard Difficulty run.

Become Fort Condor Grandmaster on Hard Difficulty

You will need to defeat the 7 Fort Condor players again on Hard Difficulty this time to earn another Fort Condor trophy. If you didn’t earn Game, Set, Master during your first playthrough, you will earn it here.

Refer to our Fort Condor Grandmaster Guide which includes loadouts for both Easy/Normal and Hard playthroughs. When all 7 have been defeated on a Hard Difficulty save, this trophy will unlock.

Complete the Story on Hard Difficulty

The Road to Revenge

Complete both chapters of INTERmission on Hard difficulty.

Once you are level 50 and have the two Gotterdammerung items from beating Pride and Joy Mk 0.5 in the Chapter 2 Combat Simulator, you will have everything you need to complete the game on Hard Difficulty. It will take a lot of practice, perseverance, and trial & error to get through, but once you complete Chapter 2 on a Hard Difficulty save, this trophy will be yours.

Phase Three – New Base Game Combat Sim Challenge

The remaining trophy requires you to beat both the Base Game’s story and the two chapters in this INTERmission DLC. Once you have, use Chapter Select in the base game to return to the Combat Simulator in Chapter 17. There, you’ll find a new optional boss; Weiss.

How to Fight Weiss in Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade

Trophy Image

Corrupter of the Immaculate

Defeat Weiss.

This is the hardest fight in the game by far, much more difficult than anything you fought in the Base Game, so I really recommend that you have earned the Platinum in the base game before even attempting this ludicrous battle. I you already earned the platinum a year ago when the game originally came out, you’ll be horribly out of practice like myself and will need to put in some practice hours to Reacclimate.

After beating the base game and the INTERmission DLC, use chapter select to return to Chapter 17 and then follow the story route until you find Chadley. Head through the door to the right of Chadley and follow the path around to a Combat Simulator.

When you enter, Chadley will follow and tell you about a new enemy that has been added to the Simulator, he’s referring to Weiss.

Enter the simulator and select “Three-person team vs. The Immaculate One.” You can only play this on Hard Difficulty and the psychopaths at Square Enix have reduced the efficacy of Gotterdammerung to 50% for this fight.

Defeating Weiss will give you two additional Gotterdammerung accessories, though, allowing you to always have three equipped (one per party member) in future playthroughs of the game. Pretty sweet, I guess.
