Welcome to our Music Racer Ultimate Trophy Guide. Music Rider is a rhythm game similar to Guitar Hero or Beat Saber in that you need to try and hit each beat of the track that’s playing.

The difference here is that you’re a car driving along a road, the slope of which is dictated by the tempo of the song. There are various (frankly, confusing and unintuitive) options for adding custom music to the game, but there’s also a wealth of great music provided locally.

Phase One – Earn Each Star Rating

There’s a trophy in Music Rider for unlocking each Star Rating. Unfortunately, you can’t just get a 3-star rating and then receive all three trophies for your efforts.

Instead, you will need to specifically aim to finish a track with each of the three possible star ratings. Honestly, you can probably just play the game at your leisure and each one will occur naturally but if you want a bit more agency than that, we have a few strategies below.

Star Rating Trophies

Load up any song on Zen mode and then just set your controller down. You can’t lose a race in Zen mode and you’ll be guaranteed a one-star rating at the end.

The One Star Race trophy will unlock as the track ends.

A two-star result is a little trickier to force, but you’ll probably average out at a two-star result at some point. My advice would be to just play any track on Standard mode and then give it a decent try. Don’t try so hard that you start sweating, but put in a moderate amount of effort.

If you’re not too good at the game, there’s a strong chance you’ll finish with a 2-star rating, unlocking the Two Star Race trophy.

A Three-star rating is very easy to acquire. First, load up any track on Zen mode, then just do your best. You honestly won’t even need to try all that hard because Zen mode is generally very easy.

By the end of the event you should hopefully have a 3-star rating, unlocking the Three Star Race trophy.

Phase Two – Purchase all Levels & Vehicles

All that remains once you have each of the star ratings is to purchase every single vehicle and track. This is a huge grind so I hope you enjoy the game and don’t mind playing it a lot.

If you don’t enjoy the game, don’t worry, I’ve got you covered. There’s an idle method you can use!

Firstly, the most expensive vehicle you can purchase is “Santa.” It costs a ridiculous 100,000 points so the first thing you’ll need to do is earn at least 100,000 points. The easiest way you can do this idle is to replay the song “Infectious” from the Local library and then leave your car in the middle lane.

Put your controller down while you go watch something on Netflix and then press whenever it stops vibrating (indicating that the song has ended). This will replay the track.

You’ll get between 1,500 and 1,600 points per run. Interestingly, if you play on the “Seeker” level you get more points. If you just use the default level though you’ll get just over 1,500.

Now, just leave this track to play itself 75 times (62 if you use the Seeker level) to earn 100,000 points. Once you have 100,000 points, close the game and upload a backup of your save to the cloud (require PS Plus).

Then, go back into the game and buy as many cars and track themes as you can until you run out of points. When that happens, close the game, download your save backup, then do it again. This time, obviously, buy cars and levels you haven’t already got the trophy for.

Every single car and level available in the game has a trophy tied to it. So keep downloading your save backup until you’ve successfully purchased every one of the trophies below and unlocked the Platinum!

Vehicle Trophies

The Cruiser trophy will unlock when you purchase the Cruiser vehicle for 5,000 points.

The F1 Bolide trophy will unlock when you purchase the F1 Bolide vehicle for 3,000 points.

The Ferra trophy will unlock when you purchase the Ferra vehicle for 50,000 points.

The GTR trophy will unlock when you purchase the GTR vehicle for 5,000 points.

The Knight Rider trophy will unlock when you purchase the Knight Rider vehicle for 10,000 points.

The Lightcycle trophy will unlock when you purchase the Lightcycle vehicle for 1,500 points.

The Lightning trophy will unlock when you purchase the Lightning vehicle for 3,000 points.

The Lincoln trophy will unlock when you purchase the Lincoln vehicle for 5,000 points.

The Lorean trophy will unlock when you purchase the Lorean vehicle for 3,000 points.

The Motorcycle trophy will unlock when you purchase the Motorcycle vehicle for 20,000 points.

The Muscle Car trophy will unlock when you purchase the Muscle Car vehicle for 60,000 points.

The Phoenix trophy will unlock when you purchase the Phoenix vehicle for 40,000 points.

The Police trophy will unlock when you purchase the Police vehicle for 5,000 points.

The RAVEN_Zero trophy will unlock when you purchase the RAVEN_Zero vehicle for 1,500 points.

The Road Warrior trophy will unlock when you purchase the Road Warrior vehicle for 5,000 points.

The RSQ trophy will unlock when you purchase the RSQ vehicle for 5,000 points.

The Santa trophy will unlock when you purchase the Santa vehicle for 100,000 points.

The Trueno trophy will unlock when you purchase the Trueno vehicle for 10,000 points.

The Turbo trophy will unlock when you purchase the Turbo vehicle for 5,000 points.

The Veron trophy will unlock when you purchase the Veron vehicle for 20,000 points.

The Volta trophy will unlock when you purchase the Volta vehicle for 15,000 points.

Track Trophies

The Celestial trophy will unlock when you purchase the Celestial level for 2,000 points.

The Colorful trophy will unlock when you purchase the Colorful level for 1,000 points.

The Distant Lands trophy will unlock when you purchase the Distant Lands level for 5,000 points.

The Fireworks trophy will unlock when you purchase the Fireworks level for 10,000 points.

The Horizon trophy will unlock when you purchase the Horizon level for 1,000 points.

The Legacy_2 trophy will unlock when you purchase the Legacy_2 level for 5,000 points.

The Reborn trophy will unlock when you purchase the Reborn level for 2,000 points.

The Retro trophy will unlock when you purchase the Retro level for 1,000 points.

The Retro_2 trophy will unlock when you purchase the Retro_2 level for 5,000 points.

The Seeker trophy will unlock when you purchase the Seeker level for 2,000 points.

The Station trophy will unlock when you purchase the Station level for 1,000 points.

The Vega trophy will unlock when you purchase the Vega level for 1,000 points.
