Trophy Guide
Horizon: Call of the Mountain Trophy Guide and Road Map for PSVR 2
Welcome to our Horizon: Call of the Mountain Trophy Guide! Horizon: Call of the Mountain is one of the first AAA PSVR2 games to hit the market and—as you can purchase a PSVR2 Bundle containing it—is one of the first PSVR2 games many PlayStation 5 owners will get their hands on.
You take up the role of a Shadow Carja and enter the world of Horizon from a brand new perspective, taking part in a tale that ties in with Aloy’s story. If you haven’t yet earned the Platinum Trophy for Horizon: Zero Dawn or Horizon: Forbidden West, we have guides available for those too, but you won’t need to play them to enjoy the story in Call of the Mountain!
The trophy journey is fairly straightforward. There are quite a few collectibles, for which we have prepared a guide, but you can choose to either clean those up in Phase Two or earn them as you play for the first time in Phase One!
While playing, feel free to have a poke around the Accessibility Settings in the game. You can increase your Damage output, reduce the damage received, multiply your climbing reach, disable the ability to fall down mid-climb, and set arrows to load automatically. All of these can help to make your trophy journey much easier if you wish to use them, as there are no repercussions to making use of them.
Phase One | Complete the Story and Optionally Find All Collectibles
In this first phase of our Horizon: Call of the Mountain Trophy Guide, you have the choice of either completing a blind playthrough and simply enjoying yourself, or trying to earn all of the Collectible Trophies by following our Collectible Guide as you play.
Personally, I recommend focusing on the story and then coming back for cleanup once you’ve enjoyed the experience to the fullest. However, if you wish to minimize the time you spend on this trophy journey, then trying to complete as much as possible in your first playthrough will be the best way to go about that.
Unmissable Story Trophies

A Rock to the Head
Climbed Brightdawn to the view of Dawn's Grasp
The “A Rock to the Head” trophy will unavoidably unlock throughout the story, when you reach the end of the Brightdawn area and become reacquainted with an earlier character.

Master Climber
Completed a Legendary Climb
Of the Six Legendary Climbs that you’ll eventually need to find and complete, some are unavoidable and you’ll actually unlock this “Master Climber” trophy by simply playing through the game’s excellent story campaign.

Defeated a Glinthawk Flight
Defeated a Glinthawk Flight
You will need to face a Glinthawk Flight a few times as part of the story. Because of this, you’re guaranteed to unlock the “Defeated a Glinthawk Flight” trophy unavoidably by just playing the campaign!
“Flight” is the word used to indicate a group of Flinthawks. Similar to “Flock” of Sheep or “Murder” of Crows.
If you miss your chance to earn this trophy in Mission 2, it will unavoidably be unlocked in Mission 4 instead.

Crafted Pickaxes
Crafted your Pickaxes
You will need to craft your pickaxes in order to progress the story. The parts will come from various chests throughout the first missions of the game, and you will then put them together in the hub area after completing Mission 2.
Your Pickaxes are vital for progressing in the story so you really wouldn’t be able to avoid unlocking this trophy during your story playthrough.

Defeated a Scrapper Pack
Defeated a Scrapper Pack
You will need to face a Scrapper Pack as part of the story in Mission 3 to retrieve some Scrapper Gears to fix the elevator. Because of this, you’re guaranteed to unlock the “Defeated a Scrapper Pack” trophy unavoidably by just playing the campaign!

The Sunspear
Completed the Pilgrims' Trail to the top of the Sunspear
You will unavoidably receive the “The Sunspear” trophy when you have climbed to the top of the Sunspear at the end of Mission 4.

Defeated a Thunderjaw
Defeated the Thunderjaw at the top of Talonreach
You will unavoidably unlock the “Defeated a Thunderjaw” trophy after doing so at the end of Mission 5; Talonreach.

A New Threat
Discovered the Powerful Machine Lure at the top of Talonreach
You will unavoidably earn the “A New Threat” trophy when you pick up the key item at the end of Mission 5; Talonreach.

Defeated a Bellowback
Defeated a Bellowback
You will come face-to-face with a Fire Bellowback at the end of Mission 6. as you cannot proceed without defeating the machine, the “Defeated a Bellowback” trophy is totally unmissable.

Defeated a Shellwalker
Defeated a Shellwalker
You will face a Shellwalker during Mission 7, thus you will unlock the “Defeated a Shellwalker” trophy unavoidably upon defeating it.

The Metal Devil
Repaired the Transmitter Box to Ascend to the Metal Devil on Devil's Anger
You will unlock the “The Metal Devil” trophy automatically during Mission 9 of the story. It is totally unmissable.

Defeated a Stormbird
Defeated the Stormbird at the top of Devil's Anger
During Mission 9, you will eventually need to fight a Stormbird in one of the game’s major boss fights. As you’ll need to destroy it to progress, the “Defeated a Stormbird” trophy is therefore unmissable.

Fully Equipped
Crafted and Collected all of the Tools
There are 5 tools at your disposal in Horizon Call of the Mountain, all of which you will automatically collect the parts for and craft as part of the story. Therefore, without really trying, you will receive the “Fully Equipped” trophy at the start of Mission 10!

Asera's Fall
Stopped Asera from reaching Meridian on her Tallneck
You will unavoidably receive the “Asera’s Fall” trophy at the end of the 11th Story Mission.

Defeated a Fireclaw
Defeated the Fireclaw in Day's End
During the 12th Story Mission, the Fireclaw will obstruct your path. This huge fire-bear is the game’s final boss and will prove to not just be a challenge, but a workout too! Don’t be afraid to pause the game to catch your breath if things get hairy.
As you cannot complete the story without taking down this flaming beast, the “Defeated a Fireclaw” trophy is completely unmissable.

Phase Two | Challenges & Optional Cleanup
With the story complete, you will have access to Mission Select once you reach this second phase of our Horizon: Call of the Mountain Trophy Guide.
Even if you managed to collect absolutely everything possible in your first playthrough, you will still need to at least replay Pilgrim’s Trail to experience its alternate route.
There are also a few miscellaneous accomplishments you’ll need to pull off, including some high scores in the Challenge Hub! You should be warned that the biggest challenge in this trophy journey will come in the form of the Assault Course Challenge in the Challenge Hub. This time-sensitive challenge can be extremely tiring, especially if you end up needing to complete several runs.
Collectible Guide
We’ve prepared a Collectible Guide in the form of a handy video to help you find everything you need!
Collectible Trophies

Warning Beacon
Shot a Warning Beacon
The Warning Beacon trophy will unlock when you break a Warning Beacon for the first time with your bow. You will actually need to break every warning beacon in a single mission for the Alerted trophy, and all 111 Beacons in the game to unlock the Full Alert trophy.

Alerted
Shot all of the Warning Beacons in a Mission
To unlock the “Alerted” trophy, you will need to find and shoot every single Warning Beacon in just one mission.
However, you will eventually need to collect all 111 warning beacons across all missions to unlock the Full Alert trophy. If you’re going for the platinum, then this Alerted trophy is guaranteed along the way.

Full Alert
Shot all Warning Beacons in Horizon Call of the Mountain
Use our Collectible Guide video to find and shoot all 111 Warning Beacons across the 12 Story Missions in Call of the Mountain. Once you have shot them all (which can be tracked via Dawn’s Grasp’s Mission Select Table), the Full Alert Trophy will unlock!

Legendary Climber
Completed all Legendary Climbs
Most of the six Legendary Climbs in Call of the Mountain, except for just two, are totally unmissable. However, you can use our Collectible Guide to find the locations of all six! Once you have completed them all, the Legendary Climber trophy will unlock!

Collector
Found a Lore Collectible in Horizon Call of the Mountain
The Collector Trophy will unlock when you find and collect your first Lore Collectible. You will eventually need to find all 20 Lore Collectibles to unlock the Scholar trophy.

Scholar
Found all Lore Collectibles in Horizon Call of the Mountain
There are just a mere 20 Lore Collectibles peppered lightly throughout the twelve Story Missions in Call of the Mountain. Use our Collectible Guide video to find all 20 of them. Upon doing so, you will unlock the Scholar trophy!

Cairn Builder
Constructed a Cairn
Throughout Call of the Mountain, you will find various piles of rocks on a flat surface. The rocks will have some sort of height indicator in the form of two metal posts behind them. The yellow indicator on these posts tells you how high you need to stack your rocks to complete the Cairn Build.
The rocks have a good rigid-body physics system enabled which allows you to realistically stack these rocks, battling with gravity along the way.
One of the best pieces of advice I can give you for these is that you don’t always need every rock. Experiment with each one to find which sides are the most stable.
You will eventually need to complete all Seven Cairn Builds to unlock the Master Cairn Builder trophy.

Master Cairn Builder
Constructed all of the Cairns in Horizon Call of the Mountain
There are just seven Cairns to find and build in Call of the Mountain, so many Story Missions don’t even contain one. By following our Collectible Guide, however, you will have an easy time finding and completing them all. The solutions can be quite tricky at times, but you will see them featured in the video!

Challenge Trophies

Top of the Class
Achieved the highest score at the Dawn's Grasp Assault Course
To unlock the Top of the Class trophy, you will first need to unlock all of the tools, so it’s best to complete the story first. Next, go to the Challenge Hub, either via the main menu or the elevator in Dawn’s Grasp.
Once there, head forward and turn right and you will see an Obstacle Course starting at a small yellow ladder. You will need to achieve a score of 1500 by not only completing the course quickly, but also passing through as many orange gates as you can.
Check out the below video, which shows my successful run at the course:

On Target
Achieved the highest score at the Dawn's Grasp Archery Range
To unlock the On Target trophy, first go to the Challenge Hub, either via the main menu or the elevator in Dawn’s Grasp.
Once there, head forward and you will see an archery range straight ahead. You will need to achieve a score of 1500 by shooting as many targets as possible. Achieving such a high score will require you to hit the large golden target at the back at least three times.
Check out the below video, which shows my successful run:

Misc Trophies

Defeated a Grazer
Defeated a Grazer in Brightdawn
This is the only one of these “Defeated a…” trophies that can kind of be missed. Not totally, of course, because you can simply use Mission Select after finishing the story campaign.
During Mission 1, once you receive the bow, turn 180 degrees and then look over the cliff edge. Over to your left, you should see a group of Grazers. Use your new bow to destroy at least one of them, and the “Defeated a Grazer” trophy will unlock!
Be quick, as they will run away if you’re not fast enough. Try aiming for the Blaze Tanks on their hindquarters or increasing your damage output via the Accessibility Settings to take them down quicker.

Mastered the Elements
Crafted Elemental Ammo
Throughout the game, you will be able to collect elemental arrows of either Fire or Shock damage. These arrows can also be crafted using various resources that you’ll pick up along the way—such as Blaze Canisters.
When you have the required resources, hold your bow out in front of you, with your wrist facing the sky. This will then show you the types of arrows available to you. Move your other hand over to the desired arrow and then press /
(depending on your dominant hand) to begin crafting that arrow (if you have what you need).
You will then see an arrow shaft and several components hovering above your bow. Grab the components one by one and place them in their matching holographic placement indicators on the arrow shaft.
After completing this for the first time for any type of elemental arrow, the Mastered the Elements trophy will unlock!

In your Element
Triggered an Elemental Explosion by Destroying a Machine's Canister
Most machines will have some sort of canister on their body, filled with glowing liquid. Destroying these canisters will cause an explosion matching the element contained within the canister.
Many of these canisters are protected by armor, but you can strip this away by using Tear arrows. Reveal hidden canisters by holding in a fight and then expose them with tear arrows.
Once exposed, target and destroy one of the canisters to cause a large explosion, unlocking the “In Your Element” trophy.

Lights Out
Shoot a Watcher in the eye before it spots you
The Lights Out trophy requires you to land a critical hit by firing an arrow directly into a watcher’s eye while it is still Blue. If the eye turns yellow or red, you will need to try again another time.
There are several Watcher encounters in Mission 6 which you can earn this trophy from, provided you are quick and accurate enough. All of these encounters have a checkpoint right before them, so if you mess up and alert the watchers then you can simply reload the last checkpoint and give it another go!
Remember; Horizon Call of the Mountain uses PSVR2’s revolutionary eye-tracking technology to provide better target acquisition on your bow shots. In short; make sure you have your eyes firmly locked on your target before you loose your arrow.

Heavy Hitter
Used the Ballista or Blaze Barrels to Damage a Machine
During many machine fights—Most notably, Mission 5’s Thunderjaw fight—there are various explosive Blaze Barrels and/or Ballista platforms available in the area.
To cause Blaze Barrels to explode, try to get a machine to stand close to them, and once they are close, fire an arrow at the barrels. The resulting explosion will cause massive fire damage to any machine nearby.
To use a ballista platform, stand on the wooden panel at its base and then pull the yellow lever. The panel will raise you up to a large platform with a ballista. Turn the yellow crank on the right-hand side to draw the ballista until the bowstring clicks into place. Aim by placing your target between the two vertical portions of the crosshair, then fire by pulling the yellow lever.
Damage any machine via either of these methods and the “Heavy Hitter” trophy will unlock!

Carja in Shadow
Got through a Watcher Stealth Area Undetected
To unlock the Carja in Shadow trophy, you must pass through on of the game’s few Watcher Stealth Sections without being spotted. It is okay if a Watcher starts “searching” for you (when its eye turns yellow) but if it spots you and its eye turns red, the trophy will be void for that attempt.
The first of these stealth sections is on Mission 2: Pilgrim’s Path, but you’ll only encounter it if you take the right-most path when it splits. A much easier-to-stealth section can be found at the start of Mission 6: Mother’s Tears.
To help make things easier, I’ve provided the below video, which shows both how to stealth the Mission 2 section and the much easier Mission 6 section.

Disc Shot!
Shot a Thunderjaw Disc out of the Air
The Thunderjaw that you fight toward the end of Mission 5 has two large disc launchers, one on each hip. When it fires a disc launcher, several discs are thrown up into the air, where they hover for a moment to lock onto their target using a blue laser. A short moment later, the disc comes flying down at the targeted area and causes a powerful explosion.
To unlock the “Disc Shot!” trophy, you must shoot one of these discs while it is hovering in mid-air. It’s actually not too tricky to pull off, just be careful not to stand in the same spot too long. Try to get to safety before even taking aim—better safe than sorry!
Remember; Horizon Call of the Mountain uses PSVR2’s revolutionary eye-tracking technology to provide better target acquisition on your bow shots. In short; make sure you have your eyes firmly locked on your target before you loose your arrow.

Fully Armed
Collected all of the Weapon and Ammo types
To unlock the “Fully Armed” trophy, you will need to have at least one of each of the 8 ammo types available across the two weapons.
The weapons will be received automatically via the story, whereas the ammo will need to be collected or crafted. Many boss fights have small ammo reserves where you can collect special arrows or sling bombs.
Below is the full list of ammo types you will need to collect:
- Regular Arrows (Bow Default)
- Blaze Arrows
- Shock Arrows
- Tear Arrows
- Precision Arrows
- Rocks (Sling Default)
- Frost Bombs
- Flame Bombs
You should be able to craft/collect them all by Chapter 9. Be sure to loot thoroughly for crafting resources.

Clean Run
Completed a Mission without Dying
The Clean Run trophy is rather easy to earn. You simply need to complete one mission without dying. The best one to earn this on is the very first Mission in the game, where you’ll only have one major conflict to survive, with a Watcher.
As long as you don’t fall while climbing, nothing else can really damage you so it should be a breeze to finish without dying. Don’t forget about the selection of Accessibility Options if you find yourself struggling more than anticipated.

Machine Safari
Embarked on a Machine Safari
You can unlock the “Machine Safari” trophy as early as the end of Mission 2, once you’ve reached Dawn’s Grasp. From there, either inspect the small toy boat in the Lore Room or simply return to the Main Menu and select the “Machine Safari” option.
As soon as you do, the Machine Safari trophy will unlock. That’s right, you don’t even need to actually complete or even experience the safari itself, you can quit as soon as the trophy pops!
