Trophy Guide
Cat Quest 3 Trophy Guide and Road Map for PlayStation
Welcome to our Cat Quest III Trophy Guide. Cat Quest III is significantly more aesthically-stunning than previous installments in the Cat Quest series, with beautiful high-definition visuals, a sprawling ocean, and a much more pleasant camera angle. That said, the trade-off seems to be gameplay. There’s significantly less to do, less side quests to complete, and less dungeons to explore. Which is by no means such a bad thing.
The result is a short platinum journey filled with mysteries to solve and secrets to uncover, rather than the typically quite repetitive gameplay loop. New weapons, spells, abilities, and your very own pirate ship help to further shake up the typical Cat Quest gameplay.
As usual, you’ll need to collect all pieces of equipment by essentially clearing every dungeon, defeating every enemy, and solving every puzzle, but you’ll fly through the game at a rather constant and pleasant pace.
Phase One | Complete the Main Quest
As usual with our Cat Quest Guides, your main objective in the first phase is to simply complete the story, but in order to keep yourself leveled up and well-equipped, you should be completing side quests and other content at a constant pace throughout. You’ll eventually need to have essentially done everything, so be sure to explore every cave, open every chest, and talk to everyone as you play, thus reducing the amount of cleanup left for you in phase two.
You can play the game on any difficulty as there are no trophies tied to difficulty.
Unmissable Story Trophies
Furry Spicy yet Supurr Sweet
Defeated Captain Takomeowki, the leader of the Spicy Squids!
You will fight Takomeowki as part of the main quest, thus unlocking the “Furry Spicy yet Supurr Sweet” trophy unavoidably upon defeating him.
My North Star was Always You
Found the North Star Treasure!
You will unlock the “My North Star was Always You” trophy unavoidably at the very end of the game, after defeating the final boss.
Phase Two | Cleanup
Despite the game’s warnings about a point of no return, the game doesn’t just end when you beat the final boss. After some cutscenes, you’ll be returned to the title screen.
From there, select “Continue” and then interact with the crystal to your left. It will rewind time and return you to the Purribean, where you can continue playing to mop up any remaining trophies.
Below, I’ve divided the remaining trophies up by key focus area, so just work your way through whichever you fancy doing first until the platinum trophy belongs to you.
Claim All Wanted Poster Bounties
Furst Bounty
Claimed a wanted poster's bounty!
In the tavern at Pawt Purvanna, you’ll find several Wanted Posters on the back wall.
Each of these relates to a tough enemy placed somewhere in the Purribean.
Once you’ve defeated one of those enemies, you’ll be able to claim a reward for defeating them by interacting with their poster at the tavern.
Claim your first bounty to unlock the “Furst Bounty” trophy!
Bounty Domiewnator
Claimed all wanted poster bounties!
To unlock the “Bounty Domiewnator” trophy, you will need to find and defeat all of the scattered bounty bosses across the map, then return to the Pawt Purvanna Tavern to collect your rewards from each of the associated wanted posters.
Below is a table detailing the locations of all the bounties:
Bounty | Location |
---|---|
Boar King | North-east of the Coral Lake, Purvanna |
Ice Pi-rat Captain | Northern side of Straits Island, Ice Pi-rat Hideout |
Oinker Chief | Centauri Ruins (Story Boss) |
Clawford | Lovepurr Castle (Love is Furever) |
Fire Pi-rat Captain | Southern side of Sunset Islands, Fire Pi-rat Hideout |
Dratcula | Eight Bit Castle, North-west on the map |
Necromouser | Twin Manor, Twin Islands |
Captain Meowtallika | Meowtallika’s Concert (Rock on, Supurrstar!) |
Captain Takomeowki | Sunset Islands (Story Boss) |
Pi-rat King | Northern point of Furggy Island (King of Pi-rats No More) |
Duck of Doom | Roaming around the sea. (Quack Goes the Ducky) |
Rock on, Supurrstar!
Defeated Captain Meowtallika, the leader of the Meowtallika crew.
As part of the story, you will need to clear out the three Seeker Ruins and then the Polaris Ruin. Once you’ve cleared those four ruins, you’ll get a Meowtallika Ticket from Captain Meowtallika himself.
Visit Meowtallika’s Concert in Meowtallika’s Bay and give the ticket to security to enter the stage.
There, you’ll be able to fight Captain Meowtallika (one of the Bounty targets). Defeat him to unlock the “Rock on, Supurrstar!” trophy.
King of Pi-rats No More
Defeated the Pi-rat King, the leader of the pi-rats.
You may be confused as to why this trophy doesn’t unlock at the end of the game, given that you fight the Pi-rat King there too, but this is a separate trophy for finding him in his lair.
To reach his lair, go to the Furggy Island in the southwest and then defeat the guards outside Dragon’s Rest. Once done, interact with the gate to get inside and then enter the dragon’s skeleton that is laid on the mountainside.
You’ll want to be around Level 60 before attempting this.
Within the lair, you’ll face the King of Pi-rats. The fight is pretty much exactly the same as the one at the end of the game. Upon defeating him, you’ll unlock the “King of Pi-rats No More” trophy.
Quack Goes the Ducky
Defeated the Duck of Doom, the ruler of the seven seas!
The “Duck of Doom” is the final Bounty Target at the tavern in Pawt Purvanna and is also the most difficult at Level 80. That said, you can easily destroy it at just Level 60 if you have the right setup.
First, as with Cathulhu, you’ll want to equip the “Electric Cannonpaw” special ammo that you unlock by defeating the Meowtallicurse outside Meowtallika’s Concert. Then you’ll just want to equip as many hull or damage-increasing blueprints as you can to improve your survivability and DPS.
When you’re equipped, go and find the Duck of Doom, which will be sailing somewhere in the open water (it’s hard to miss, even from afar). Keep circling it to avoid taking damage from the barrage of lasers while you repeatedly mash to fill up your Special Ammo gauge. Whenever you have special ammo, press to fire your Electric Cannonpaw for massive damage. Rinse and repeat until the duck sinks and you unlock the “Quack Goes the Ducky” trophy.

The vast majority of equipment in Cat Quest 3 comes from looting chests in the overworld or in dungeons and caves. This equipment can all be farmed by revisiting the Infinity Tower and opening the chests that spawn after each wave.

Once you have all 24 Head Armor, all 24 Body Armor, all 17 Melee Weapons, all 10 Ranged Weapons, and all 21 Trinkets, the “Armeowry Furshionista” trophy will unlock!
Put simply, however, as long as you earn every other trophy in this guide, the only items you should still need will be Chimeowra Claw, The Furst Mail, Bird Poop, Weird Mushroom, The Son’s Rod, Flame Crystal, Ice Crystal, and the Gentlebros’ equipment.
Find All Ship Blueprints
Ship Mieutenant
Collected first ship blueprint
Chests you open will sometimes contain equippable ship upgrades called “Ship Blueprints.” The first time you find one, you will unlock the “Ship Mieutenant” trophy.
Ship Furst Mate
Collect 5 ship blueprints
Chests you open will sometimes contain equippable ship upgrades called “Ship Blueprints.” Once you’ve found a total of 5, you will unlock the “Ship Furst Mate” trophy.
Ship Mewster
Collect all the Ship Blueprints
To unlock the “Ship Mewster” trophy, you need to collect every Ship Blueprint. These usually either come from Chests, Bounty Bosses, or Story Bosses. Therefore, complete the story and then continue completing dungeons and opening chests until you have collected all of them.
Below is some guidance on the more uniquely-hidden blueprints. The rest are found in chests.
Blueprint | Location |
---|---|
Magma Cannonpaw | Defeat the Boar King (Bounty Domiewnator boss) |
Electric Cannonpaw | Defeat Meowtallicurse; the Ship outside Meowtallika’s Concert |
Cursed Cannonpaw | Defeat The Pi-rat King’s Ship at Furggy Island |
The Fires of Cathulhu | Defeat Cathulhu and collect the chest he spawns (A Painful Pawst, Avenged) |
The Fowlmidable | Defeat the Duck of Doom (Bounty Domiewnator boss) |
Open (at least) 80 Treasure Chests
Treasure Rummeowger
Opened 20 Treasure Chests!
You will eventually need to open 80 Treasure Chests for the Treasure Expurrlorer trophy, but upon opening your 20th chest you’ll unlock the “Treasure Rummeowger” trophy.
Treasure Pouncer
Opened 50 Treasure Chests!
You will eventually need to open 80 Treasure Chests for the Treasure Expurrlorer trophy, but upon opening your 50th chest you’ll unlock the “Treasure Pouncer” trophy.
Treasure Expurrlorer
Opened 80 Treasure Chests!
The Treasure Expurrlorer trophy only asks that you open 80 chests, but there are far more than just 80 in the game, and I’d recommend you collect many more than just 80. This is because you’ll need to collect all Blueprints for Ship Mewster and all Equipment for Armeowry Furshionista.
Most chests are clearly visible on the world map as you explore, while some are obscured behind trees and bushes. The remaining chests are hidden inside the many dungeons and caves in the game. When all chests in a dungeon or cave have been opened, that dungeon or cave will have a green checkmark icon over it in your world map . Go out of your way to clear every dungeon/cave to make sure you don’t miss anything vital to the Platinum Trophy.
Complete All 12 Sets of Puzzle Stones
Purrzzler
Completed a set of puzzle stones!
There are 12 sets of Puzzle Stones in Cat Quest 3, each set will reveal a chest for you to open. The stones are fairly obvious when you see them due to their bright blue hue.
To solve a set of Puzzle Stones, you need to hit them in a particular order, usually hinted at by their placement, size, or something an NPC told you. For a full guide to all Puzzle Stones, see Purroblem Solver.
Purroblem Solver
Completed all 12 sets of puzzle stones!
There are just 12 Puzzle Stone locations in Cat Quest 3. To unlock the “Purroblem Solver” trophy, you will need to find and complete all 12 puzzles. Below, I’ve provided a table with the locations as well as solutions for each puzzle:
Location | Solution |
---|---|
Long Island | Hit the stones in this order: DOWN, UP, LEFT, RIGHT, based on the number of pebbles nearby. |
Straits Island | Approach from the South and shoot the stones counter-clockwise along the coast. |
Purvanna – Watchcat | Follow the order given by the Watchcat: II, V, III, IV, I, VI. |
Purvanna – Postmutt | Hit the stones from shortest to tallest: leftmost, rightmost, middle-right, middle-left. |
Code Island | Simply hit the stones in numerical order: I, II, III, IV, V. |
Sandy Island | Use the Lightnyan spell to activate all the stones simultaneously by standing in front of them. |
Polaris Ruins – first puzzle stone set | Cast the Lightwhisker spell in the middle of the obelisks to solve the puzzle. |
Polaris Ruins – second puzzle stone set | Cast Flamepurr towards the inaccessible stones to hit them all. |
Polaris Ruins – third puzzle stone set | Use Flamepurr to hit the three stones in a row, and a fast-firing ranged weapon for the side stones. |
Sunset Islands – 8-bit Castle Beach | Quickly hit the stones in sequence from I to IV, sailing your ship rapidly between them. Hold to sail faster. |
Sunset Islands – Northeast section | Start by exploring the northwest section of the Sunset Islands, where you’ll find regular stones with Roman numerals underneath. These stones mirror the puzzle stones in the northeast and thus give you the puzzle answer. Activate the stones on the northeast in the order corresponding to the numerals you found. If you imagine each stone is numbers 1-5 from left to right, the correct order is 4, 5, 1, 2, 3. |
The Whole Purribean | The final puzzle involves hitting five tall puzzle stones dotted around the Purribean, in a specific order. Start by hitting the one near Pawt Purvanna, then hit the one at Lovepurr Island, followed by the one on Sunset Island. Next, hit the one on Twilight Island before hitting the final one on Furggy Island. You’ll need to hit them all in one tour of the ocean without entering any story events or indoors areas in-between. |
The gallery below contains the 5 puzzle stones required for the final one in the table above. I’ve put them in the order you need to hit them, too.
Dungeon Trophies
Love is Furever
Completed the Lovepurr Dungeon!
To clear the Lovepurr Dungeon, there are several things you must do.
First, visit these three dungeons and collect the “Lovepurr Chronicles” books from them:
- Lovepurr Cave at the mouth of the river behind Lovepurr Castle on Lovepurr Islands.
- Furrlorn Cave on the west coast of Purvanna
- Heartpurreak Cave on the east tip of the crescent-shaped Twilight Isle
The caves always have small pieces of paper leading up to them, making it easier to spot them.
Once you have the books, enter Lovepurr Castle on the Lovepurr Islands and then interact with each book to complete a mini choose-your-own-adventure story.
Upon successfully reaching the treasure chest at the end of each book, you’ll be able to enter the door at the back of the castle and fight the Level 35 boss within. This boss is one of the Bounty Targets.
After defeating the boss, open the chest and then speak to the NPC in the entrance of the castle for another chest to wrap things up and unlock the “Love is Furever” trophy.
Once Bitten, 8 Times Shy
Completed the 8-bit dungeon
The 8-Bit Dungeon is a castle in the north-west corner of the map. You’ll want to be around Level 50 before venturing there.
Once you reach the area, sail your ship to the center of the spiral-like maze and then use its cannons to destroy the barricade blocking the entrance. Head inside to enter a retro castlevania-inspired dungeon.
You’ll need to make your way through to the end of it and defeat Dratcula, then open the three chests inside to complete the dungeon and receive the “Once Bitten, 8 Times Shy” trophy.
The first chest is in the same room as the boss. Then, on your way back through the castle, you’ll find the second chest behind a gate that used to be locked. If you’re struggling to find it, return to the entrance and then go up the stairs to the left of the parrot.
To get the final chest, return to where the Painting spoke to you and the chest will spawn.
Purrsitively Golden
Completed the Golden Tower
The Golden Tower is found at the north end of Purvanna, and it contains several locked gates leading to chests containing unique gold-themed equipment.
There are 5 keys to find, and their locations are listed below:
- Simply interact with the lock to the first gate for the first one.
- West of the tower, follow the pawprints and then chase the coin until it spawns a chest containing the 2nd key.
- Go to the co-ordinates (x46, y9) and then chase the coin there to reach another chest containing the 3rd key.
- Go to the co-ordinates (x20, y45) and then chase the coin there to reach another chest containing the 4th key.
- Go to the co-ordinates (x3, y7) and then chase the coin there to reach another chest containing the final key.
When you have all 5 keys, open all of the locked gates and loot all of the chests to clear the dungeon and unlock the “Purrsitively Golden” trophy.
Find All Hidden Items
Furst Secret
Found a hidden item!
In Cat Quest III, there are many items hidden behind puzzles. These are typically obvious from an element of the environment or something that an NPC says to you. For example, on the shores of Pawt Purvanna, there’s an NPC who tells you to go and investigate a strange bush surrounded by rocks. Hitting that bush reveals the hidden treasure chest containing a hidden item.
Finding a Hidden Item for the first time will unlock the “Furst Secret” trophy, but you should find them all to unlock the “Secret Purrlunderer” trophy.
Secret Purrlunderer
Found all hidden items!
To unlock the “Secret Purrlunderer” trophy, you need to find just 6 hidden chests on the overworld map. To help you do this, I’ve detailed their locations in the table below:
Location | Details |
---|---|
Pawt Purvanna | Hit the bush surrounded by small rocks on the west shore. |
Near the Monster Researcher | Southeast of the Monster Researcher in his tower there’s 5 Starfish. Hit the red one to reveal the hidden chest. |
Near Code Island | From Code Island, sail west to a tiny round island with nothing but a red starfish on it. Hit the red starfish to reveal the hidden chest. |
Near 8-Bit Castle | On the narrow islands around 8-Bit castle, you’ll find a red Starfish. Hit it to reveal the hidden chest. |
Furggy Island | On the coast of Furggy Island, just south of where it says “Furggy Island” on the overworld, there’s a peculiar rock surrounded by planks. Hit it to reveal the chest. |
Furtigua | Off the east coast of Furtigua, there’s a small island with a rock inside a wooden triangle. Hit the rock to reveal the chest. |
Questline Trophies
Paws Over Tentacles
Defeated Cathulhu, the menace of the ocean.
To begin the Cathulu questline, first go and retrieve the Jug o’ Milk for Mama Milka (See Commewnity Helper).
Once done, speak to her again and she will aks you to go and defeat Cathulhu. Cathulhu is a level 65 boss so you’ll want to be at least Level 50 before attempting this fight.
I strongly recommend you go and defeat the Meowtallicurse ship outside Meowtallika’s Concert.
This ship gives you an insanely powerful homing attack called “Electric Cannonpaw” which can really make the fight a lot easier. Alongside that, equip any hull upgrades you have and then head to the northeast corner of the map to fight Cathulhu at “Cathulhu’s Rest.”
Keep moving to avoid its tentacle attacks while popping off Electric Cannonpaw attacks whenever you’re close to the creature’s face.
Defeat Cathulhu to receive the “Paws Over Tentacles” trophy!
A Painful Pawst, Avenged
Completed the Mama Milka questline!
After unlocking Paws Over Tentacles, go back to the tavern in Pawt Purvanna and speak to Mama Milka to hand in the quest and unlock “A Painful Pawst, Avenged.”
Meowsterwork
Completed the Kidd Cat Questline!
To begin the questline for Kidd Cat, you must first go and find his Smith Hammer and then return it to him. See Commewnity Helper.
Once done, speak to him, and he’ll tell you he needs a “Dragon Bone” to create his masterwork. To acquire some Dragon Bone, you must go and fight one of the Bounty Targets; The Pi-Rat King (See King of Pi-rats No More).
Once done, return to him with the Dragon Bone and speak to him again. He’ll craft you a powerful weapon called “The Dragonbone,” unlocking the “Meowsterwork” trophy!
No Necromeowncy Here!
Completed the Mage Bonny questline!
To begin the questline for Mage Bonny, you must first go and find her Voodoo Doll and then return it to her. See Commewnity Helper. She will give you a spell when you do, then when you speak to her again she’ll give you another spell.
Once that’s done, speak to her a third time, and she’ll ask you to get the Necropawmicon for her. To do this, you’ll need to go to the Twin Islands in the southeast corner of the map and then defeat the Necromouser inside the Twin Manors.
Return to her with the book once you have it and hand it off to her. As thanks, she’ll give you one of the 10 spells you need for the Spellmewster trophy, and you’ll unlock the “No Necromeowncy Here!” trophy.
Happurrly Ever After
Witnessed the Purrmaid find her Prince Charming!
On Sunset Island, in the northeast portion of the main island, you’ll find a mermaid trapped in a small lake. To reach her, use your ship’s cannon to destroy the barricade and then speak to her.
She will give you a “Shell Phone” item and then decide to just stay there anyway. The Shell Phone allows you to loot rippling coral reefs all across the map; you’ve probably seen them before, they look like this:
To loot them, you need to jump into the water and then press to use the Shell Phone and the loot will be brought to you. You’ll need to loot all of these locations, which I’ve listed below:
- Slightly southwest of the Mermaid
- Off the southeast coast of Furtigua
- Slightly northwest of the Magic Bone at Pawt Purvanna
- East of Centauri Ruins at the Twilight Isles
- Between the two Twin Islands
- Southeast of Cat-face Mountain, at the center of the lake
- Off the north coast of Catuga, near the Star Rune
- Near the Southernmost Dock on Furggy Island
After you have found and looted all 8 coral locations listed above, return to the Mermaid to unlock the “Happurrly Ever After” trophy.
Learn All Spells
Spellmewster
Learned all 10 spells!
To unlock the “Spellmewster” trophy, you simply need to find and unlock all 10 spells in the game. Fortunately, they’re very easy to find and you’ll get them just by progress the story and other trophies in this guide. To help you with any you might be missing, I’ve put together the table below:
Spell | Acquisition |
---|---|
Firepurrism | Defeat the Fire Pi-rat Captain Bounty Domiewnator |
Freezepaw | Defeat the Ice Pi-rat Captain Bounty Domiewnator |
Icepaw | Give Mage Bonney the voodoo doll Commewnity Helper |

Return All Lost Items
Commewnity Helper
Returned all lost items to their rightful owner!
To unlock the “Commewnity Helper” trophy, you need to find three items and then return them to their owners.
The first of these is found on Purrier Beach near Great Purrier Reef. There, you’ll see several starfish in increasing number. From the left side of the beach to the right end, you’ll see one starfish, then two, then three, then a group of four, and finally a group of five.
Stand on the beach between the group of four and the group of five and you’ll notice a spot on the ground you can interact with. Press on it to dig up the Jug o’ Milk. Bring it back to Mama Milka in the Tavern at Pawt Purvanna. This will also kick off the questline for Paws Over Tentacles and A Painful Pawst, Avenged.
The second item is found on the Twilight Isles. Go to the northeastern Rest Beakon there and then interact with the small stone to the left of it.
You’ll dig up the Smithy Hammer! Bring it to the Blacksmith in Pawt Purvanna. This is required to start the questline for Meowsterwork.
The third item is found on the Sunset Isles at the north side of the map. Go to the small island with the Guiding Star on it, and then press on the small red bush behind it.
This will reveal the Voodoo Doll item. Collect it and bring it to the Mage Dog at the Magic Bone in Pawt Purvanna. This is required to start the questline for No Necromeowncy Here!.
Once all three items have been returned to their owners, you’ll receive the “Commewnity Helper” trophy!
