Side Bullet Trophy Guide and Road Map for PlayStation 5

16/11/2023 – This morning, we received an email from the Side Bullet developers to say that they have decided to end their commitment to the game. It has been removed from the PS Store and won’t be going back up.

No clear explanation was given for this, but it’s truly sad news as we really did enjoy what the game had to offer. We’ll leave our guide up as an archive of what the game once was for the very short period it was alive.

Here’s hoping another developer takes up the mantle of bringing us a side-scrolling Battle Royale in the near future. For now, though, farewell Side Bullet. We’re sad to see you go!

Welcome to our Side Bullet Trophy Guide. Side Bullet is an interesting blend of Online Multiplayer Battle Royale and Side-Scrolling Shooter gameplay.

As someone who typically abhors Battle Royale-style games, I was surprised to find Side Bullet to be a wholly enjoyable and accessible gaming experience. Unfortunately, Side Bullet is—at the time of writing—a very new and almost beta-like experience, as the game definitely needs some more love poured into it. Hopefully, others enjoy the experience as we have, and the player base picks up a bit more.

The trophy journey itself is very reasonable, aside from needing a win in each main game mode, you’ll just need to essentially play the game and progress other trophies naturally.

Note that all trophies unlock at the end of the match you earned them in and don’t ever unlock immediately. Presumably, this is because your progress is synced with the server at the end of each match.

Phase One | Trio Victory

First things first, we’ll kick off your Side Bullet Trophy Journey by going for a victory in Trios. Getting a victory in Trios is way easier than a victory in Solo, because you have two allies to help keep you alive, take down enemies, and revive you when you’re downed.

This will also act as a great opportunity to get to grips with the gameplay mechanics and get more proficient at surviving, which will come in handy for phase two!

Trophies in this phase:

Trio Victory

The Three from the Ruins

Play Battle Royale Trio once

Unmissable

Online Co-op

Online Multiplayer

The Three from the Ruins trophy will unlock unavoidably at the end of your first match of Trios.

Fantastic 3

Take 1st Place in the Battle Royale Trio once

Challenging

Online Co-op

Online Multiplayer

To unlock the “Fantastic 3” trophy, your squad must win the whole match. This means that every other team must be completely wiped out.

Some matches will be easier than others, and obviously, if you have a good team you’ll have an easier time. That said, Side Bullet is probably one of the easier-to-win Battle Royales I’ve ever played so it shouldn’t be too difficult to pull a win out eventually.

Phase Two | Solo Victory

Once you and a squad have successfully survived a whole match and come out on top, it’s time to part ways with your friends (or those random strangers who you played with) and try to go the distance on your own!

From the lobby, switch from Trios to “Solo” via the game mode selection in the bottom left corner and then press “Play” to begin matchmaking. Good luck!

Trophies in this phase:

Solo Victory

Survivor
Jack Pot

Solo Victory

Survivor

Play Battle Royale Solo once

Unmissable

Online Multiplayer

The Survivor trophy will unlock unavoidably at the end of your first match of Solo mode.

Jack Pot

Take 1st Place in the Battle Royale Solo once

Challenging

Online Multiplayer

Just as with the Fantastic 3 trophy, Jack Pot requires you to win a whole match and come out on top. The difficulty here, however, is that you won’t have your team to back you up as you need to achieve this feat in Solo mode.

The best advice I can give you is to just be patient and keep trying. There’s a good likelihood that you’ll luck out and win a match without doing anything because the other teams take each other out or get stuck in quarantine rooms.

Phase Three | Cleanup

If you’ve made it this far into our Side Bullet Trophy Guide, then you’ve already overcome two of the biggest hurdles. Now that you don’t actually need to win any matches, you can just enjoy yourself and focus on mopping up the remaining trophies.

One of these trophies will need to be earned in Trios mode with other players, but a good majority can be earned in Solo mode if that’s how you’d prefer to proceed.

Misc Trio Mode Trophies

Team Player

Resurrect teammates 10 times in the Battle Royale Trio

Online Co-op

Online Multiplayer

Cumulative

When your allies take too much damage, depleting the shields and health gauges entirely, they will fall down to the ground, on all fours.

In this state; they can either be revived by a teammate or taken down by an enemy.

To unlock the Team Player trophy, you will need to revive a cumulative total of 10 teammates in this way, by standing over their downed bodies and holding to get them back on their feet.

Expert of Battle

Kill 2 enemies at once

Challenging

Online Multiplayer

Non-Cumulative

The “Expert of Battle” trophy requires you to kill two players simultaneously, with the same bullet/explosion.

While the trophy icon depicts two players being taken out with a sniper round or Railgun round (or a jousting pole?), it is much, much easier to pull this off with an explosive. That could be a grenade, Molotov, C4, Rocket Launcher, or any other kind of explosive weapon.

Though this trophy doesn’t strictly need to be earned in Trio mode, I strongly recommend that you farm it there, as you’re more likely to find enemy players in groups of 2 or more in Trio mode.

Misc Pickup Trophies

Fully Armed 1

Obtain 100 Armor Items

Online Multiplayer

Cumulative

When playing Side Bullet, you will notice that some containers and vending machines contain bullet-proof vest items. When you pick these up, you will gain some extra shields which must be depleted before you can take damage, so a very useful item to collect indeed.

The easiest way to farm these items is to just purchase them from Vending Machines.

Once you have collected a cumulative total of 100 Armor Pickups, you will unlock the Fully Armed 1 trophy.

Capitalist

Acquire 10000 Coins

Online Multiplayer

Cumulative

While playing Side Bullet, you will collect coins which can then be spent at Vending Machines to acquire new weapons or items. You will accumulate these over time by opening containers and defeating enemies (including zombies).

Just keep playing until you naturally unlock the Capitalist trophy after collecting a cumulative total of 10,000 coins. You don’t need to have 10,000 coins on you at once.

First Aid

Use Med-kits 30 times

Online Multiplayer

Cumulative

When your health is low in Side Bullet, if you have a Med Kit in your inventory, you can hold to heal yourself.

If you don’t have any med kits, you can get them by defeating enemies and zombies, or from vending machines.

To unlock the First Aid trophy, you simply need to do this a cumulative total of 30 times.

Purchase Product

Use Vending Machines 30 times

Online Multiplayer

Cumulative

If you have enough cash on you, from defeating zombies and opening containers, you can spend it at Vending Machines in specific vending machine rooms throughout the building.

To unlock the Purchase Product trophy, you will need to use a Vending Machine to buy any item a cumulative total of 30 times.

Misc Weapon Trophies

Master of Aiming 1

Deal Damage of 10000 with Primary Weapons

Online Multiplayer

Cumulative

To unlock the Master of Aiming 2 trophy, you need to deal a cumulative total of 10,000 damage with Primary weapons. Primary Weapons include Assault Rifles, Snipers, and Sub-Machine Guns.

These weapons are all equipped on the middle slot of your loadout, so you need to press [triange] once to access them from your pistol.

Just keep playing the game and shooting enemies and zombies with primary weapons until the trophy unlocks.

Master of Aiming 2

Deal Damage of 10000 with Secondary Weapons

Online Multiplayer

Cumulative

To unlock the Master of Aiming 2 trophy, you need to deal a cumulative total of 10,000 damage with Secondary weapons. Secondary Weapons include Shotguns and Launchers.

These weapons are all equipped on the far-right end of your loadout, so you need to press [triange] twice to access them from your pistol.

Just keep playing the game and shooting enemies and zombies with secondary weapons until the trophy unlocks.

Fully Armed 2

Obtain 10 launchers

Online Multiplayer

Cumulative

Misleading Description

When the description for this trophy says “Launchers,” it doesn’t mean Rocket Launchers or Grenade Launchers. In fact, it doesn’t strictly refer to Launchers at all.

As a match progresses, you will eventually see an on-screen notification to indicate that a miniboss has spawned in a specific room. Using your map to find that room, you can kill the miniboss.

These minibosses are very tough to kill unless you have a good squad or some good weapons, but once you do kill one, they will drop a weapon with a red outline. These weapons are what the trophy description means by “Launchers.”

Therefore, to unlock the “Fully Armed 2” trophy, you must pick up a cumulative total of 10 of these special red-outline weapons.

Note that you don’t necessarily need to get the weapon from the boss yourself, you can pick them up when opponents drop them too.

There’s a really cool exploit for this trophy if you’re playing with a friend. Once you have one of these Heavy Weapons, pass it back and forth between yourself and a friend. Repeat this 10 times and the trophy will unlock at the end of the match. drops Heavy Weapons.

Special Ability

Use a Special Weapon 100 times

Online Multiplayer

Cumulative

Misleading Description

The description for this trophy is another misleadingly-translated one. When it says “Special Weapons” it actually refers to your “Special Ability.”

To trigger your Special Ability, when it is charged, press & together.

You can see how charged your Special Ability is via the icon at the bottom-center of your HUD in-game.

Simply activate it whenever you get chance and the trophy will unlock after your 100th activation.

Misc Ability Trophies

Teleport

Use a hook 200 times

Online Multiplayer

Cumulative

In Side Bullet, everyone is equipped with a Grapple Hook. You can activate it by pressing , shooting a claw out in the direction you are aiming.

You can also tap to quickly grapple enemies or ledges that are marked by the game’s automatic (and flawed) lock-on system.

To unlock the Teleport trophy, just use this claw 200 total times, cumulatively.

Lullaby

Make an enemy faint by using a hook 20 times

Online Multiplayer

Cumulative

When you press to activate your grappling hook while aiming it at an enemy, they will become stunned, giving you an opportunity to attack them.

To unlock the “Lullaby” trophy, you will need to stun opponents in this way a cumulative total of 20 times.

Expert of Timing

Make 30 shield parryings

Challenging

Grind

Online Multiplayer

By far the hardest trophy to earn in Side Bullet; Expert of Timing requires you to successfully parry someone’s Grappling Hook a cumulative total of 30 times.

30 is an insanely high bar to set. Not only is it rare that you actually run into other players, but they rarely hit you with their grappling hook. And when they do, it’s usually unexpected and so near impossible to parry.

Your best bet is to find another player in Solos who is also trying to farm the trophy. They’ll likely either grapple you or flash their shield at you. Try to indicate you want the same thing by flashing your shield and they may just help you out!

Other than that… Just keep playing, keep parrying, and keep praying.

Another thing you could try is playing Solo Mode but matchmaking at the same time as your friend. While the player pool is still low, there’s a good chance you’ll be paired up. However, if the player base grows (which we hope it does, we love this game) there’ll be less chance of meeting friends at random.

Other Misc Trophies

Battle Machine

Kill enemies 100 times

Online Multiplayer

Cumulative

The Battle Machine trophy is very self-explanatory; just kill 100 enemies. This is cumulative so, of course, you won’t be required to get 100 kills in one match. That’d be absurd.

Zombies don’t count for this trophy, though, it does mean specifically to kill other players.

Champion

Achieve Lv. 50

Online Multiplayer

Cumulative

To unlock the Champion trophy, you’ll need to reach Player Level 50. How quickly you do this depends on how often you place in the top three players/teams per match.

Either way, the solution here is to simply replay matches over and over and over, collecting EXP from each match regardless of if you win them, until the Champion trophy eventually, naturally, unlocks.
