Road Bustle Trophy Guide and Road Map

Welcome to our Road Bustle Trophy Guide. This is probably the easiest and quickest platinum I have ever written a guide for, and may well be the easiest you can earn in general.

Road Bustle Trophy Guide: Gameplay Tips

If you plan on earning this trophy legitimately (which will still only take you a few minutes), then you should know the following:

  • You can use to sprint.
  • You will earn a checkpoint at the 5,000 and 10,000 point thresholds, but not 15,000.
  • The game is essentially frogger, you’ll want to avoid moving obstacles such as trains and cars on the rails and roads, and ensure you don’t hit any static obstacles such as trees and houses on the grass.
  • You’re not timed in any way, so don’t feel the need to rush it.
  • You can use vehicles which will each have its uses. The Hoverboard, for example, can go over manhole covers. They’re completely unnecessary though and I never used any.
  • The Tractor is meant to be an invincibility tool, but note that some objects can still touch the player model while you are in the Tractor, and if that happens you will still get a game over.

Exploit method

As hinted at earlier, there is an illegitimate method for earning all trophies, which won’t save you a massive amount of time, but it will save you some moderate amount of effort.

Rather than playing the game as intended, avoiding obstacles and making actual progress, it would appear that score is earned as long as you are moving forward, regardless of whether progress is made.

With that in mind, at the start of your run, you can run down and to the left, where you’ll find a red building.

Go behind this building and press yourself up against the back of it. Now, hold either manually or with an elastic band if you’re feeling resourceful.

In just 5 minutes you should earn 16,000 score effortlessly and the platinum trophy with it.

Phase One – Earn 16000 Score

For this phase – the only phase – you just need to make progress. The longer you walk without getting taken out by an obstacle, the higher your score will be.

Coming into contact with a vehicle or obstacle will result in a game over, meaning you will need to start again either from the latest checkpoint or the start of the game.

Bug Warning:

It is recommended that you stop after each important score threshold and wait for the trophy to unlock. If a trophy takes too long to unlock, and you meet the threshold for the next trophy in that time, there’s a chance that you won’t get them both.

To get around this, you will need to restart from the last checkpoint and meet that threshold again. If you already got a checkpoint at 5,000 or 10,000 but one of the trophies before that glitched, like 9,000 for example, you cannot go back to a checkpoint and unlock it.

Therefore, the only thing you can do is to delete all save data for Road Bustle and start again fresh.

Playing this on PS5 is safer, because the SSD means faster trophy unlocks and the system is able to keep up with the number of trophies unlocking.
