Mass Effect 3 Trophy Guide and Road Map
Welcome to our Mass Effect 3 Trophy Guide for PS4. In this guide, you will find strategies and tips for unlocking every trophy on your way to the platinum. We have broken the journey up into easily digestible phases with expert information packed into each one. With this, anyone should be able to conquer this game and its challenges.
Mass Effect 3 Trophy Guide: Before You Begin
Galaxy at War
Mass Effect 3 features a new mechanic called Galaxy at War. This is essentially a list of war assets that Shepard has secured during the course of the game. You will need to gather approximately 75% of these assets for Master and Commander.
While the inclusion of the DLCs helps with reaching this target, it is still advised to complete as many side missions as you can as you progress through the story as they will contribute to the collected Galaxy at War assets.
Upgrading Weapons
Like Mass Effect 2, Mass Effect 3 lets you upgrade your weapons via a terminal in the Normandy Shuttle Bay. All you need is credits this time around, with each subsequent upgrade on the same weapon costing a little bit more. You will need to upgrade any weapon to level 10 for Gunsmith.
You can only upgrade a weapon a total of 5 times in a single playthrough thus requiring a partial playthrough in New Game+ to get the last 5 upgrades.
Phase One – Play up to Priority: Tuchunka
During this phase of our Mass Effect 3 Trophy Guide, you will be focusing on completing every mission available to you up to Priority: Tuchunka.
The reason for this is that Priority: Tuchunka acts as a sort of point-of-no-return for some side missions. Once you progress beyond the Tuchunka mission, many uncompleted side missions will automatically fail thus robbing you of potential war assets.
Visit the Citadel often as Shephard can overhear people talking which will lead to collection quests. These quests can be completed by travelling to the cluster mention by the quest giver and scanning planets to find an item. However, some of these quests need items that won’t be accessible until after Priority: Tuchunka. If you sure you can’t complete a quest then move on and check back later.
You can also choose to complete the Omega and Leviathan DLCs during this phase, though you can wait until Phase Three if you’d prefer to do some levelling up first.
Like the previous two games in the series, there are a number of skill-related trophies such as Shield Breaker for overloading the shields of 100 enemies. There are more than enough chances to earn all these trophies naturally, though if you’d rather save them for later, the Citadel DLC has a handy arena where you can farm them.
Phase One Trophies
Driven
Return to active duty
Complete Prologue: Earth
Bringer of War
Chase down an assassin
Complete Priority: Mars

The earliest you can earn this trophy is while visiting the Virmire Survivor (Ashley/Kaiden) in Huerta Hospital on the Citadel after finishing the Priority: Mars mission.
A Personal Touch
Modify a weapon
You can modify your weapons in the Normandy Shuttle Bay after you visit the Citadel for the first time. There is a panel on the left of where Cortez stands which will let you buy upgrades. You only need credits for upgrades.
Eye of the Hurricane
Kill a brute while it’s charging at you
You can earn this trophy during the Priority: Palaven mission. During the final moments, a Brute will appear. Kill it while it charges you (you might have to take its health down enough that you can finish it off while it charges).
Mobilzer
Bring a veteran officer aboard
Complete Priority: Palaven
World Shaker
Destroy and Atlas dropped from orbit
Complete Priority: Sur’kesh
Tunnel Rat

Hijacker
Hijack an Atlas mech
You can hijack an Atlas mech by shooting the glass cockpit until it breaks. Then you must kill the pilot and approach the mech where you will be prompted to press to hijack it. The earliest you can attempt this is during Priority: Sur’kesh or Grissom Academy: Emergency Evacuation.
Savior
Free Omega from Cerberus Occupation
Complete Omega DLC.
Under Pressure
Uncover an Ancient Secret
Complete Leviathan DLC.
Phase Two – Play up to Priority: Cerberus Headquarters
During this phase of our Mass 3 Effect Trophy Guide, you will be again completing every mission up to the final mission, Priority: Cerberus Headquarters.
After saving the Citadel from the Cerberus assault, you can go back to mopping up side quests and story missions up to the final assault on Cerberus’ HQ. Make sure you don’t start Priority: Cerberus Headquarters as it will automatically take you to Earth to begin the final battle against the reapers.
This would also be a good opportunity to travel around the Galaxy Map and scan for war assets.
It’s important to ensure that you leave Priority: Thessia until you have finished as many side quests as possible as completing Priority: Thessia will automatically fail some side quests. As long as you prioritise side content over mains tory missions, you should have no issues.

Phase Three – Complete Citadel: Shore Leave DLC & Misc
During this phase of our Mass 3 Effect Trophy Guide, you will be completing the Citadel: Shore Leave DLC, which features a great place to farm skill-based trophy kills and other combat trophies in the Armax Arsenal Arena.
Play through the DLC until you’re tasked with gathering supplies for the party at Shephard’s new apartment. Before you do, however, head to the Armax Arsenal Arena and farm any combat trophies you have yet to earn and use the tokens you win from this game mode to unlock arena modifiers, arena locations, and enemy types. You want to make sure you buy the Mirror modifier for The One and Only.
You will likely earn Master and Commander during this phase, if you haven’t already.
Phase Three Trophies
Last Resort
Stop an out-of-control scheme before it’s too late
Complete Shore Leave DLC.
Master and Commander
Deliver most of the Galaxy at War assets to the final conflict
Almost every mission and side quest will award you with assets for the Galaxy at War. You will need around 5,400 to earn this trophy.
Pyromaniac
Set 100 enemies on fire with powers
Using abilities, set 100 enemies on fire. You can grind this trophy out in the Armax Arena Arsenal.
Shield Breaker
Overload the shields of 100 enemies
Using abilities, set 100 enemies on fire. You can grind this trophy out in the Armax Arena Arsenal by selecting enemies with shields such as Cerberus.
Sky High
Lift 100 enemies off the ground with powers
Using abilities, lift 100 enemies into the air. You can grind this trophy out in the Armax Arena Arsenal.
Combined Arms
Perform any combination of 50 biotic combos or tech bursts
Combine any of Shepard’s and/or your Squadmates abilities. You can grind this trophy out in the Armax Arena Arsenal.
Mail Slot
Kill 10 guardians with headshots from the front while their shields are raised
Guardians are the Cerberus enemies with metal shields protecting their body. You will notice a small “slot” at the top where you can see their heads. Simply kill 10 Guardians by headshots through this opening. A sniper rifle is probably the best method.
Always Prepared
Obtain two non-customizable suits of armor
There are several armors you can buy for Shepard that are non-customizable, meaning they can’t be mixed with other pieces or recoloured in any way. Buy two of these from any vendor. You can make a save before you buy them and reload after the trophy pops, if you’d prefer to keep your credits.
The One and Only
Defeat a group of Spectre-level opponents on Normal, Hardcore, or Insanity
In the Armax Arsenal Arena, you must first unlock the Mirror modifier in the Gold rewards shop. Once you have this, set up a match with the Mirror modifier on; this will pit Shephard against clones of him/herself. You must “complete” this challenge on Normal, Hardcore, or Insanity for this trophy to pop. However, you can begin the challenge on the easiest difficulty, kill all enemies apart from the very last on in the final round, switch to Normal, and then finish the remaining clone off. The trophy will not recognize that you switch difficulties at the end and reward you with the trophy.
Phase Four – Ending the Reaper Threat & New Game+
All that’s left in this phase of our Mass 3 Effect Trophy Guide Is to take the fight to Cerberus and the Reapers to put an end to their threat once and for all.
You will need to play through the prologue on Earth, the mission on Mars, and your first visit to the Citadel before you can return to the Normandy and upgrade your chosen weapon from level 5 to level 10.
Phase Four Trophies
Executioner
Defeat and old adversary
Complete Priority: Cerberus Headquarters.
Patriot
Make the final assault
Complete Priority: Earth.
Legend
