Trophy Guide

I Am the Hero Trophy Guide and Road Map for PlayStation 4

Welcome to our I Am the Hero Trophy Guide. I Am the Hero is a heavily stylized side-scrolling beat-em-up. The most notably unique feature of this game is the slight camera angle which helps to add more dynamicism and shake up the otherwise-familiar gameplay. Being quite a short game, the most attractive feature of I Am the Hero for many players will surely be its easy-to-acquire Platinum which you can earn in just 2 hours.

Phase One – Complete the Story

All you need to focus on in this first phase of our I Am the Hero trophy guide is playing through the Story Mode once. There’s just one difficulty to choose from and 7 bosses to defeat along the way.

For each boss that you defeat, you will unlock an unmissable trophy to add to your collection.

If you wish to earn the platinum as quickly as possible, however, you should aim to complete each of the Level-Specific Trophies which we will otherwise cleanup in Phase Two of this I Am the Hero trophy guide.

It will help to note that — when given the choice — the game is much easier if you choose to unlock Characters instead of EX-Moves.

If not, then you should go into the “Extras” option from the main menu, and then select “Level”, where you can choose individual stages to replay – provided you’ve actually completed them once before.

The Button Battery

Find the button battery

Chapter-Specific

Semi-Missable

Collectible

The Button Battery trophy can be unlocked in Level 4 – 2 by finding the Button Battery item.

When you enter the elevator in this stage, be careful not to fall off it. After a certain point, if you fall off you will land at the bottom surrounded by corpses. If you end up down here, you will have missed your opportunity to collect this hidden object and will need to restart the level via the menu.

You might find it easier to survive the elevator ride by using a different character who moves less when attacking, but I found it was still doable with the default hero if you just use + to punch enemies up and off the elevator.

Make it all the way to the bottom of the elevator ride and then jump off to the platform to your right, where you should see two vents, one of which is higher up on the wall.

Hit it and the Button Battery will fall out. Press while standing over it to pick it up and unlock the trophy.

Just after the Security boss fight, in the room with a lot of TVs and lewd posters, there’s some large audio equipment by the door.

Press while standing over it to pick it up and unlock the trophy.

Phase Three – Combat Trophy Cleanup

In this final phase of our I Am the Hero trophy guide, we’re going to simply focus on mopping up the few remaining trophies.

They are all combat-related and are very likely to have unlocked naturally while you were working on the other trophies in this guide.

Ouch!

Reach 100 combo

The Ouch! trophy will unlock when you reach a 100-hit combo. See R.I.P for more info.

Trophy Image
Trophy Image
R.I.P

Reach 200 combo

The R.I.P trophy will unlock when your combo meter reaches 200. Each hit you land will increase the combo meter by 1, and getting hit will reset it to 0.

One useful mechanic of the game which will help you to achieve this is “Endurance Mode”, activated by pressing when the blue bars under your health are filled.

When endurance mode is active, you become uninterruptable and unblockable, so you’re free to rack up a combo with ease.

If you’re struggling to find a group of enemies to earn this trophy on, you should try using “Arena Mode” from the main menu.

To unlock Blink!, you will need to complete 10 “critical attack” actions. See Bli-Bli-Blink! for more info.

In combat, if you press the punch button at the exact same moment that an enemy is about to hit you, you’ll trigger a “critical attack” animation, which deals extra damage.

Note that if you are pushing or in any direction, you cannot trigger a critical attack.

This is likely to happen quite a lot as you play through the story, but is also fairly easy to farm if you simply load up Arena Mode, allow your enemies to crowd together, and then mash while standing on the spot.

Trigger 50 Critical Attacks and the Bli-Bli-Blink! trophy will unlock.
