Trophy Guide
Doki Doki Literature Club Plus Trophy Guide and Road Map for PlayStation 4
Doki Doki Literature Club Plus is a Console port of a popular Visual Novel PC game that gained a lot of attention for its dark twist. This seemingly innocent visual novel game holds many disturbing secrets, but you’ll uncover them all via this Doki Doki Literature Club Plus Trophy Guide as we help you on your way to the Platinum Trophy!
Doki Doki Literature Club Plus Trophy Guide: Before You Begin
Glitched Trophy
Currently, Doki Doki Literature Club Plus’ platinum trophy is unobtainable. This will likely change in an upcoming patch, but at the time of writing, the trophy “Breakthrough” is unobtainable, thus preventing you from earning the Platinum Trophy.
As of an update patch released on July 14th 2021, “Breakthrough” is fixed and the platinum trophy is now obtainable.
Skip Function
When making repeated playthroughs, the ability to “skip” from the menu bar will make things much quicker for you, it can cut a full playthrough down to as little as 20 minutes.
The feature is unavailable on your first playthrough because everything is new to you, but if you enter the settings menu, you can actually change the “Skip Options” to allow you to skip any text at any time. I would recommend doing at least one playthrough before using the skip feature but if you really don’t want to wait around reading things then at least you know the option is there.
I must warn you, though, one of the collectible requirements asks you to complete the “weekend” portion of the story without using the skip feature once, you should keep this in mind if you plan to skip everything.
Poem Minigame
Much of the game’s story is dictated through this poem minigame. Depending on which character you appease with your choice of words, you’ll see different sequences. As you will need to see every possible sequence to achieve 100% completion of the game, it’s important that you understand how to use this minigame.
You will be given a choice of 10 words. Each of those words has an emotional tone befitting certain characters. For example, words like “Destiny,” “Determination,” and “Graveyard” will grab the interest of Yuri, whereas using words like “Adventure,” “Friends,” and “Sparkle” will grab Sayori’s attention.
I’ll include a full list of each character’s preferred words in this guide to help you make the right choices so that you can see the sequences you want to.
Phase One – See all Three Game Endings
For this first phase of our Doki Doki Literature Club Plus Trophy Guide, your goal will be to not only complete the story but to see all three of its endings. By seeing each ending, you’ll be collecting a lot of the collectible items you’re going to need, but you will also pick up a good handful of trophies along the way.
You’re also going to want to write perfect poems for each character (See Poetry Trophies), which you can do while working on the “Good” ending.
To help you, here are some steps to seeing each ending:
Doki Doki Literature Club “Normal” Ending
For the “normal” ending, you should just play the game through blind one time. You’ll reach the natural conclusion of the story and will see the typical ending.
Doki Doki Literature Club “Good” Ending
To tell you how to reach the good ending, I will need to tell you some spoilers. This is the most complicated ending to achieve, but you will receive a trophy for doing it. Look in the spoiler tag under the trophy Dan says hi to see how to reach the good ending. I recommend not reading the spoilers until you’ve at least done your blind playthrough and have seen the story one time.
Doki Doki Literature Club “Bad” Ending
This is one of the easier endings to get because it doesn’t involve completing a full playthrough. It does involve spoilers, though, so I’ve hidden the solution below. Come back and check it after your blind playthrough.

You will need to perform the following steps:
- Before starting the game (after using reset.sh), from the main menu, select “Exit DDLC” to be taken to a fake Computer OS desktop.
- Open the “Files” menu and open the “Characters” folder.
- Look for a file named “monika.chr” and press [triangle] to select it. Delete the file. We’re essentially deleting Monika early, before the point in the story where it is appropriate to do so.
- Return to the game and experience the events that unfold.
Story Trophies
The trophies in this portion of our Doki Doki Literature Club Plus Trophy Guide are unlocked by simply working through the story. There’s a pretty high chance that you’ll get them all in your blind playthrough.
Start a New Game
Start a New Game.
This isn’t quite as obvious of a trophy as it seems. It won’t unlock when you start the game for the first time; instead, it will unlock when you start the game for the second time for “Act 2.” The option will be glitched as shown in the image below:
The way that Doki Doki Literature Club works means that you will be selecting “New Game” a few times, but they’re not actually fresh starts. Each time, some new development will have changed the story’s flow, so it’s actually a continuation. This will make more sense as you play.
Either way, when you start Act 2 the game will glitch a bit and then reset, the trophy unlocks after the reset.
Thank you
Love, Monika
This trophy will unlock as part of the story when you complete the game for the first time via the “normal” ending.
Ruin everything
Ruin the game.
This is a fairly spoiler-heavy trophy solution, so I’m going to hide it, but take a peek if you get stuck:
Spoilers! Click to Show
At the end of Act 3, you will be stuck in a room with Monika and have no way out. Or so it seems.
Go to the settings menu and choose “Exit DDLC” to end up on a fake computer desktop. From there, enter the file browser and open the folder named “Characters.” Inside, choose “monika.chr” with [triangle] and then erase the file. The trophy will then unlock.
Poetry Trophies
The trophies in this portion of our Doki Doki Literature Club Plus Trophy Guide are tied to the game’s poetry minigame.
Any% WR attempts
Write a poem in 20 seconds or less.
This sounds harder than it is. I recommend doing this for your first poetry minigame when going for the Normal ending because it’s kind of a potluck who is going to like your poem when you do this.
To earn this trophy with ease, just mash to pick a random series of words for your poem within the 20 second time limit.
Doki Doki Poetry Slam
Spend enough time during the poem minigame for the music to loop.
For this trophy, you need to do the opposite of the one above. Just stay in the minigame until the music loops, not that you need to pay any attention as the trophy will unlock as soon as the music loops, so just wait until you see that sweet trophy notification!
This will likely occur naturally while you’re taking the time to reference our handy word guides below for each of the “Perfect!” trophies.
Perfect! Sayori
Write a perfect poem for Sayori.
This trophy will require you to write a poem enjoyed by Sayori. To do so, you simply need to select words that Sayori enjoys during the poetry minigame (if she is present).

The trophy will unlock as soon as the poetry minigame ends if you chose the right words.

Write a perfect poem for Natsuki.
To unlock this trophy, you’re going to need to write a poem that Natsuki likes. To do so, you need to select words that resonate with her during the poetry minigame.

To write a perfect poem for Yuri and unlock this trophy, you’ll need to select words she likes during the poetry minigame.

The trophy will unlock as soon as the poetry minigame ends if you chose the right words.
Perfect! Monika
Write a perfect poem for Monika.
Towards the end of the game, Monika will force you to write her a poem. During this section, the words you choose are unimportant, and Monika will love it either way, unlocking this trophy automatically.
Other Phase One Trophies
During this phase of our Doki Doki Literature Club Trophy Guide, you’ll be playing the main story multiple times to get full story completion, which will involve collecting many of the trophies here.
Dan says hi
Find Dan’s special note.
To unlock this trophy, you need to witness every possible outcome for Sayori, Yuri, and Natsuki on a single save file (by that I mean without using “reset.sh” to reset the game, loading a save is fine, as you’ll see). The best way to do this is to progress in Act 1 until the first poetry minigame and then make a save you can revert to. You’ll then need to do the following:
- Start from your save at the first poetry minigame.
- Write a poem for Sayori at each of the three poetry minigames in Act 1 (see Poetry Trophies for help).
- When asked who you’d like to help for the festival, choose Yuri.
- Experience the weekend scene with Yuri until you meet with Sayori outside.
- Sayori will confess her love, tell her that you love her.
- You will see a scene of you and Sayori hugging, pause the game here and load the save at the first poetry minigame.
- Write a poem for Natsuki at each of the three poetry minigames in Act 1 (see Poetry Trophies for help).
- When asked who you’d like to help for the festival, choose Natsuki.
- Experience the weekend scene with Natsuki until you meet Sayori outside.
- Sayori will confess her love again, tell her that you love her, again.
- You will see a scene of you and Sayori hugging, again, pause the game here and load the save at the first poetry minigame.
- Write a poem for Yuri at each of the three poetry minigames in Act 1 (see Poetry Trophies for help).
- When asked who you’d like to help, you can choose either Yuri or Natsuki, it doesn’t matter now.
- Continue playing until Sayori confesses her love again, tell her for a third time that you love her, and then see the game through to the end.
- During Act 3, wait around long enough to write a poem for Monika to see an extra Monika CG.
- Continue to the end of the game, you should now see the good ending and will receive a message from Dan Salvato, the developer.
This trophy will unlock when you receive that message from Dan.
She will never be real
Listen to a lot of what Monika has to say.
During Act 3, when you and Monika are alone with stars outside the windows, she will monologue for a very long time. Just stay there with her, listening to what she has to say. You may wish to turn on the “Auto” option from the menu bar .
You’re going to be there for a very long time, about 10-15 minutes, but the trophy will pop once you’ve been there long enough. You’ll also get a collectible for your trouble.
Note that Monika will go silent for long periods of time, just wait through it, it’s normal.
2-Stocked
Delete Monika twice while getting deleted zero times.
The “while getting deleted zero times” part of that trophy description will probably have you on edge, but you can’t actually be deleted, so there’s nothing to worry about.
You just need to delete the “monika.chr” file two total times throughout your time on the game. This is something you’ll be doing anyway while working towards the different endings, so you don’t really need to worry about it.
That being said, it can even be done from the very start of the game if you want. Here are the steps to follow (you need to have at least started the game once):
- From the main menu or Settings menu of the game select “Exit DDLC” to be taken to a fake Computer OS.
- From there, select “Files” and open the “Characters” folder.
- In there, select monika.chr with and then choose to delete it.
- Feel free to open the game up to see how things have changed as a consequence, but once you are done go back to the root folder of the “Files” menu and select “reset.sh” with to restore all files.
- Open the characters folder again and delete monika.chr again.
The trophy should unlock once monika.chr has been deleted for a second time.
Phase Two – Complete the Side-stories
During this second phase of our Doki Doki Literature Club Plus Trophy Guide, you will need to work your way through the new extra content in the “Plus” console port, known as Side Stories.
The Side Stories menu is found on the Computer OS and they will unlock over time, but you should have them all by the time you reach this phase of our guide.
Side-story Trophies
Friendship and Literature
Finish all of the Side Stories.
There are six 2-part Side Stories plus a bonus Side Story that you will unlock when you have played all twelve parts. To unlock the six side stories you will need to write poems for the different girls, but if you have seen all three of the game’s endings as instructed during the first phase of this Doki Doki Literature Club Trophy Guide, then you will have access to all side stories.
To unlock this trophy you just need to complete all twelve side story parts as well as the bonus “Equals” side story.
If you have no interest in actually reading these side stories, you can blast through them in about 5 minutes by just using the Skip function, there are no choices or minigames so they will fly by in a short moment, with all associated collectibles being unlocked along the way.
Phase Three – 100% Completion
Now that you’ve experienced the game’s three main endings and completed all of the side stories, you should just have a handful of misc trophies left (all of which are easy to acquire) and one more difficult trophy for acquiring every single collectible.
Seeing all endings and completing all side stories will give you a good majority of the collectibles too, though, so you’re in good stead to pick that trophy up.
For this phase of our Doki Doki Literature Club Trophy Guide, you’re going to want to take some time to mop up the miscellaneous trophies below and then use the collectible guide below to find out where and how to pick up the last few collectibles.
Note, as a reminder, that the trophy for collecting 100% of collectibles is not currently obtainable. I will remove this warning when this is no longer the case.
As of an update patch released on July 14th 2021, “Breakthrough” is fixed and the platinum trophy is now obtainable.
Miscellaneous Trophies
Error
Your desktop wallpaper could not be changed due to an administrative policy restriction on this computer. For more information, contact your system administrator.
To unlock this trophy, you’ll need to be at the Computer OS. To reach this mock desktop, open the game’s settings and choose “Exit DDLC.”
You’ll now be at a fake desktop screen, and there should be a tab called “Pictures,” select that. Inside, you will find several images to choose from. Pick any that you like and then select it using . This will set it as your desktop wallpaper and unlock the trophy.
No
Choose not to quit DDLC.
This is a very easy trophy, though probably not something you’d do naturally.
Go to the game’s “Settings” menu and then select “Exit DDLC,” or do this from the main menu via the “Exit DDLC” option there. The game will ask you if you’re sure; just select “No” to stay in the game and unlock this trophy!
Buy my mixtape
Spend 20 minutes listening to music on the desktop.
Unlocking this trophy will require accessing the music browser. To do so, enter the game’s “Settings” menu and select “Exit DDLC” to reach the Computer OS. From there, open the “Music” menu to see all of the Music collectibles you’ve unlocked so far.
Unfortunately, you will actually need to listen to at least one of these songs for 20 minutes. Fortunately, you can do this in small bursts if you like, as the 20 minute total is cumulative. Alternatively, you can get it out of the way in one single 20-minute chunk of time by watching YouTube videos or something… Maybe you would actually enjoy listening to the in-game music for 20 minutes, and that’s certainly not a bad thing!
After a total of 20 minutes has passed with music playing, this trophy will unlock.
Stonks
Review Paula’s project plan.
This trophy is quite obscure, so I’ve written the steps to unlocking it below:
- Select “Exit DDLC” in the game’s Settings menu to reach the Computer OS.
- Open the “Files” browser and look for the folder called “internal”
- In there, open the folder “2”
- In there, open another folder named “2”
- In there, open the folder “1”
- You should now see a file called “projectplans.txt” but if you try to open it you will see an error message asking you to “Please come back later”
- Annoyingly, this is the game telling you to change your console time. Use the button to return to your console dashboard and then navigate to the settings. Choose “Date and Time Settings” and then “Set Manually.”
- You need to change the time to 2:40PM (regardless of timezone) and then return to the game before a minute can pass.
- Interact with the “projectplans.txt” file again and if it is still 2:40PM you will be allowed to open the file.
This trophy will unlock once the projectplans.txt file has been opened.
Reach 100% Completion
Breakthrough
Achieve 100% data collection.
There are several types of collectible to be on the lookout for; Music, CGs, Backgrounds, Poems, Wallpapers, Promo Art, Sketches, and Secrets. To unlock this trophy, you will need to find all of them. The tables below will show you the names of each collectible and where, in the game, they can be found.
Many of them will unlock naturally when completing the main game or the side stories, so by the time you reach this point in our Doki Doki Literature Club Plus Trophy Guide, you may well already have a good majority of them. You can open the “Settings” menu while on the Computer Desktop to view the “Data Collected” value, a percentage indicating how many collectibles you have so far.
The tables below contain quite a few spoilers, so only read on if you don’t care.

Where to Find all Doki Doki Literature Club Plus Secrets
Secrets are mysterious notes found throughout the game. Up to three times throughout Act 2 of the game you’ll get a pop-up saying “You have unlocked a special poem. Would you like to read it?”
Choosing “Yes” will show you one of 11 secret screens. 9 of them are written documents on paper, those 9 make up the majority of the “Secret” collectibles.
Getting them all requires quite a lot of work. Though they are displayed at random, the randomization is determined when the game is booted up. I don’t mean booted up from the fake Desktop, I mean from your PlayStation Dashboard. This means that in order to roll the dice and get what secrets you can, you’ll need to close the game completely, open it up, run reset.sh, start a new game, continue until you’ve seen all three special poems in Act 2, then close the game again and repeat.
The skip feature will be very useful when it comes to farming these collectibles.
