Trophy Guide

AK-xolotl Trophy Guide and Road Map for PS4 & PS5

Welcome to our AK-xolotl Trophy Guide. AK-xolotl is a Rogue-like Bullet Hell game akin to Binding of Isaac or Enter the Gungeon. One distinct difference between AK-xolotl and those games, however, is how much easier the trophy journey is!

This relatively short trophy journey of just 10-15 (depending on luck) hours features an easy difficulty option, lots of permanent gameplay progress, and just all-around addictive gameplay. It’s a lot of fun and I definitely recommend it for Rogue-like fans!

Phase One | Complete your First Run

To start with, I recommend just trying to beat a run for the first time. This is no small feat, as you’ll need to get through 5 whole levels and their bosses. This gets easier and easier as you get more comfortable with the mechanics, get better at avoiding damage, and unlock better items/weapons.

During your first few runs, I would recommend prioritizing rooms that have an Axolotl, Cookie, or Gem symbol in front of their doors. These rooms offer permanent items that you can use to make the game easier.

Once you reach Level 3, I recommend prioritizing Food Rooms for a while. The Honey you can get from Level 3 can be used with the leaves from Level 1 to make a meal that gives your Axolotl an active healing ability . I recommend putting this on every Axolotl you raise into adulthood unless you don’t intend to use them.

One last thing to note is that you can change the game to Axolittl mode which reduces the difficulty significantly.

I also recommend switching the Aim Assist setting to “Extreme” in the settings. This will help you land hits in high-pressure situations.

From there, you need to feed it a meal to grow it any more. Access the cooking pot at the center of The Pond and cook up any meal using the ingredients you’ve collected on your adventures.

Take the cooked meal with , bring it to your adolescent Axolotl, and feed them the meal with .

They will then eat the meal and begin transforming into an adult Axolotl, which you can now choose to play as! The first time you do this, you’ll unlock “They grow so fast…”

One down, Nine to go.

Phase Two | Complete 9 More Runs

After the grueling effort/insane luck it took to make it all the way to the end of your first run, you probably don’t feel like doing it 9 more times, but trust me when I say it gets easier.

In this second phase of our AK-xolotl Trophy Guide, there’s not much extra going on. You’ll need to keep harvesting happiness from axolittles, keep collecting Gems and using them to buy items/guns, and keep running the gauntlet again and again.

All you really need here is patience, and maybe a good playlist/series to keep you entertained.

Trophies in this phase:

Complete 10 Runs

RNG

Upon completing your 10th full start-to-finish run of AK-xolotl, and beating Cthulotl for the 10th time, you will unlock a very well-deserved Gold Trophy; Winner winner time for dinner.

Phase Three | Cleanup

After overcoming AK-xolotl’s ultimate challenge of completing a total of 10 runs, there will still be a few things to clean up, but most of them will have been progressed or even earned already along the way. There really shouldn’t be too much more for you to farm!

Browse the selection of trophies below, which I have divided up between Misc Pond Facility Trophies that you can earn at the hub and Misc Run Trophies that you can earn in the field for your convenience.

Misc Pond Facility Trophies

Happiness Farmer

Absorb the Happiness of an Axolittle for the first time

Eventually, you will unlock the ability to use the Blisstaker Crystal at the Pond to absorb the happiness of Axolotl Babies in exchange for permanent upgrades.

The way this works is that you would raise a baby’s happiness so that it is ready to grow up, by nurturing it each day. Instead of growing the baby, though, bring it to the Blisstaker Crystal and place it on the ground next to it.

Interact with the Blisstaker Crystal to activate it, and the happiness will be sapped from the baby. You will then need to nurture it a few times before it can be grown again, but you’ll have some happiness to spend on permanent upgrades.

Apex form

Unlock everything from the Blisstaker Shop

Collectible

Grind

To unlock the Apex Form trophy, you will need to purchase everything that you can from the Vulture NPC at the Blisstaker Crystal.

Everything the Vulture sells must be purchased using Happiness that you’ve harvested from your Axolittles. See Happiness Farmer .

You will need to buy absolutely everything in stock to unlock the trophy, so make sure you always nurture Axolittles after a run and bring them to the crystal to harvest happiness instead of growing them to the next stage.

Capitalism 101

Spend any amount of Gems for the first time

After you earn gems in a run for the first time, when you return to the Pond there will be a new NPC there. A dog, who has a bunch of Vending Machines.

Purchase just one item from the store using the Gems you’ve gathered and you’ll receive the Capitalism 101 trophy!

Cool, cool, cool, cool

Unlock everything from the Droppin' Doggo Shop

Collectible

Grind

The Droppin’ Doggo shop is a corner of the Pond with several vending machines, run by a dog in sunglasses. This dog will accept gems in exchange for new items. You won’t get these items immediately, but they will be added to the pool of available items during your subsequent runs.

To unlock the “Cool, cool, cool, cool” trophy, you will need to collect Gems from Gem Rooms and Bosses on your runs, then bring them to the Droppin’ Doggo shop at the Pond to purchase items.

Keep doing this until the dog has nothing left to sell.

Purrchase Perfection

Unlock everything from the Small Paw's Dealer Shop

Collectible

Grind

The Small Paws Dealer is a corner of the Pond with large stalls, run by a cat.

This cat will accept gems in exchange for new weapons. You won’t get these weapons immediately, but they will be added to the pool of available weapons during your subsequent runs.

To unlock the “Purrchase Perfection” trophy, you will need to collect Gems from Gem Rooms and Bosses on your runs, then bring them to the Small Paws Dealer shop at the Pond to purchase items. Keep doing this until the cat has nothing left to sell.

Still trying to figure out why it’s called the Small Paws Dealer? Yeah, it confused me too. It’s a play on “Arms Dealer.”

Cannibalism??

Drop an Axolittle baby near the cauldron

The “Cannibalism??” trophy is very easy to unlock. All you need is a baby Axolittle. Once you have hatched one, pick it up with , walk it over to the Cauldron at the center of the pond, and then press again to place it on the ground near the cauldron.

The trophy will then unlock immediately. Easy!

Misc Run Trophies

Indie frogs slayer

Defeat 25 Frogs

Cumulative

RNG

Frogs are known in-game as “Croakers,” and they hang out in all areas.

These tough amphibians have a lot of HP and throw boomerangs at you, which you’ll need to keep an eye on so they don’t clip you from behind on their return trip.

To unlock the “Indie frogs slayer” trophy, you will need to kill just 25 of these. It shouldn’t be too difficult to pull off and will likely happen naturally.

I think I stepped on one (thousand)

Defeat 1000 Caterkillah

Grind

Cumulative

RNG

Caterkillahs are a very weak enemy type that are easy to avoid and even easier to kill. To unlock the “I think I stepped on one (thousand)” trophy, you need to kill a cumulative total of 1000 of these.

This might seem rather doable—and it definitely is—but you might be surprised to learn this is one of the biggest grinds in the game. You’re looking at hours upon hours of replaying runs and hunting these critters down, so get a good series ready to watch while you do this.

While Caterkillahs do seem to be more common in the first Level, you can find them in other levels too.

You’ll make a lot of progress toward this trophy naturally while you work on your 10 complete runs, but I highly doubt you’ll earn it naturally.

Diabolical

Defeat all the enemies (not counting bosses and special enemies) at least once

Collectible

RNG

After a short while, a Baboon will come and open a business at the Pond, in the lower-left corner. You can speak to this Baboon to check your journal, where every enemy, weapon, and item you have discovered so far is cataloged.

To unlock the Diabolical trophy, you will need to find and defeat each enemy at least one time, logging them all in the Journal. Once the Enemy page of the journal is full, the Diabolical trophy will unlock.

You will no doubt unlock this naturally while working on Winner winner time for dinner.

Armed to the gills

Unlock 8 Primary Weapons

Collectible

RNG

The Selection of Primary Weapons available to you will evolve over time as you complete more and more runs, progressing further and further each time.

You will unlock this naturally, maybe even before you’ve successfully completed a run for the first time.

Stonks

Collect 500 Doraditos in a single run

Non-Cumulative

Doraditos, as you may have guessed, are the small golden triangles you collect throughout the game. They appear in abundance throughout a run, but you will lose them when you die or otherwise reset.

They can be spent at the Hyena’s field shop to better equip yourself for the current run.

To unlock the “Stonks” trophy, you must collect a cumulative total of 500 Doraditos in one run. You can safely spend these Doraditos and don’t need to have 500 on you at one time, but when you die or restart, this counter resets.

Bucket

Break Chipzs bucket for the first time

Whenever you defeat a boss, you’ll get to visit a small rest area immediately afterward, where you can rest up and heal.

On the left side of this area, fishing in a pond, you’ll see Chipsz and, next to him, a bucket of blue fish.

To unlock the “Bucket” trophy, all you need to do is shoot this bucket, destroying it. Remember to grab the fish it leaves behind.

Such a tryhard

Complete a Challenge Room for the first time

RNG

Challenge Rooms are typically found behind doors with a gem icon in front of them.

In these rooms, you’ll have to defeat multiple waves of enemies, some of which are big and tough. They’re like any other room, just a little bit tougher and with better rewards.

Honestly, you’re very likely to earn this naturally while attempting to complete 10 full runs.

Git gud

Die 100 times

Cumulative

Just get yourself killed in-game a cumulative total of 100 times to unlock the Git Gud trophy. This has a rather high likelihood of unlocking naturally as you play, but if it doesn’t (because you’re already “Gud”), it’s a simple trophy to farm.

Start a run, take damage ’til dead, repeat.

Never gonna give you up

Roll 537 times

Cumulative

Do you remember Rickrolling? From like 2010? Well, AK-xolotl’s developers do.

To Rickroll yourself by unlocking the “Never gonna give you up” trophy, you just need to perform a roll maneuver 537 times. You can roll by pressing .

I would imagine that you’ll be rolling a hell of a lot. It’s the best way to avoid damage and you can dodge through whole walls of bullets using the roll ability. Therefore, I also expect that you’ll earn this trophy naturally.

If you do not, however, just get out there and start mashing !!

Surprise!

Defeat the Mimic for the first time

RNG

From Level 3 onwards, when you enter a Gun Room, there’s a good chance that the chest at the end will be a mimic.

When you interact with the chest to claim your reward, the chest will transform into a turret. Back away quickly because if you’re too close when it finishes transforming, you’ll take damage.

Fight and defeat this robot enemy to unlock the “Surprise!” trophy.

This is heavily reliant on RNG and you could either get extremely lucky and find it with ease, or find yourself stuck laboriously hunting one down for hours on end.

Did you hit all the walls?

Enter a secret door for the first time

RNG

AK-xolotl has hidden rooms that you can find. To find one, you need to shoot at either the left or right-side walls with a gun (I recommend switching to your primary to not waste ammo). If you successfully find one, the wall will crack a small amount.

Shoot the crack in the wall to break open a secret entrance.

The first time you enter one of these, you will unlock the “Did you hit all the walls?” trophy.
