About the Sonic Superstars Infinite Super Form Exploit

In Sonic Superstars, when you have all 7 Chaos Emeralds (See our Sonic Superstars Trophy Guide for more information on how to collect them all) you will have access to a Super Form ability at the top of the ability wheel.

When you have at least 50 rings, you can use this ability to transform any character into their invincible Super form. This makes most fights and levels a total breeze as you can’t take damage and can only be killed by falling off-screen or getting crushed.

The only problem is that, while this form is active, your rings will slowly deplete until you have none left, at which point you’ll revert back to your normal form.

Well, what if I told you there’s a way to activate Super Form and not have your rings deplete?

How to Use Infinite Super Mode in Sonic Superstars

To activate Super Mode, you can select it with the wheel and then press , beginning the transformation immediately.

However, if you interrupt this transformation at the right time, the benefits of Super Form will stay active, while not depleting your rings at all!

For this to work, you must jump up into the air, the glitch won’t work when you’re on the ground. While in mid-air, press to activate Super Mode, then as soon as you see the transformation happen (easier to note for Sonic and Trip), hit + simultaneously.

If done correctly, your character will drop to the ground, then immediately become super again. A good tell is the music, if the Super Form music is playing then the trick worked! You can now stay in your Super Form until a bonus world, death, or cutscene forces it to end!

If done incorrectly, you’ll either stay in your normal form, or you’ll have a gold glow around you as though the ability is selected (even though it’s not). Be careful as the latter looks kind of like Super Mode with Tails, Knuckles, and Amy, but if the music isn’t playing then you should try again.

Does the Infinite Super Glitch Still Work in Sonic Superstars?

This glitch was fully functional at the time of writing (November 2023), however, there’s a possibility SEGA will patch this out soon.

Keep your hopes high, though. Sonic games are notorious for their abundant glitches and physics issues, and SEGA don’t have a great track record of fixing them.
