Cyberpunk 2077 Duplication Glitch and Infinite Money Exploit

Game Guide

Introduction

The platinum trophy for Cyberpunk 2077 involves gathering up quite an insane amount of Eurodollars (or Eddies, as they’re colloquially referred to in-game). This can put an enormous chunk of time onto the length of your Platinum Journey, but thankfully there’s a glitch in the game right now with which you can earn millions of Eddies in a laughably short amount of time by exploiting a duplication method as well as a glitched painting.

To begin with, we’ll explain the duplication method and how you can use it to farm resources you will find yourself needing throughout your playthrough, and then we’ll talk you through acquiring the glitched painting and how you can turn a single painting into thousands of Eurodollars.

We should point out, however, that Cyberpunk 2077 is a pretty glitchy mess at the moment and CD Project Red are hard at work fixing as much as they can, so it is a race against the devs to make the most of this exploit before they patch it. There’s no telling when or if this exploit will stop working, but we expect it will be patched out in the coming months.

Cyberpunk 2077 Duplication Glitch

If you’ve been playing Cyberpunk 2077 over the past week, then you’ve likely accrued quite the pile of junk which you’ve probably been routinely dumping into Drop Points.

These Drop Points are undoubtedly convenient, but they can be utilised in a much more advantageous manner. You can actually use them to duplicate any item you want. Clothing, Weapons, Crafting Materials, Weapon Mods, etc.

During regular use of a Drop Point, you will be presented with a standard buy/sell interface with a black/red background. Any item you sell will appear in the Drop Point’s inventory, you will see your money go up and the Drop Point’s money go down. This is how it’s supposed to work.

Working as intended

What we want to do instead, is hit + which, if you timed it right, will bring up the same buy/sell interface, but you should notice the background is now transparent and any item you sold to the Drop Point can be bought back an infinite number of times (or until you run out of Eddies).

Working as intended… for us 😉

You will notice that your money, as well as the Drop Point’s money, is completely frozen so you can’t tell how much you’re actually spending, but as long as you have a stack of glitched paintings, you can immediately sell a bunch of them to the Drop Point to get all of your spent money back.

Before you attempt this, it’s crucial that you have the “Untitled 18 – Brancesi, 2021” painting which can be sold for 4,000 Eddies and be bought back for a measly 5 Eddies.

Acquiring the Glitched Painting in Cyberpunk 2077

To begin, you must first have completed a heist mission with Jackie, which will end with you being brought to your apartment by Misty. After a short rest, you’ll begin speaking with an important character named “Johnny Silverhand”. You’ll now be able to find and complete the quest from which you earn this painting.

Once you’ve met that requirement, find or fast travel to the “Piez” Fast Travel Point in Rancho Coronado in Santo Domingo.

From there, head to the nearby side-job you should see to the west.

There’s a few homeless folks huddled around a suitcase, trying to open it. Talk to the main guy “Rick” to begin the side job.

If you have 7 strength, you can take it from them, otherwise, whip out a gun and start shooting at them. Don’t try to buy it from them. It’s a waste of 2,000 Eddies.

They will get scared and run off, leaving you with the suitcase. With a hacking stat of 7 you can hack right into the suitcase and take the spoils.

If you don’t have a high enough hacking skill, head around the corner to the dumpsters, and you’ll find a corpse. The body of the suitcase’s original owner from which you can collect the access shard required to unlock the suitcase.

Go back to the suitcase and use the shard to open it. Activate the “Launch.exe” program within to get the co-ordinates of a drop point which will be added to your map as a waypoint.

Head to the drop point which is 1.8KM away in Biotechnica Flats.

Once you arrive, you’ll meet an interception squad of seven very tough enemies in plenty of armour. Take them out with your best weapons.

You’ll then find a metal cylindrical pod in the center of the area, interact with it to collect the glitched painting, which you’ll now be able to use as your own personal money-making machine!

Cyberpunk 2077 Infinite Money Exploit

At this point, you should have everything you need to utilise this exploit.

Head to a Drop Point, any will do. Make a manual save, just in case, and then sell the painting for 4,000 Eddies as you would normally.

Hit + at the same time to bring up the glitched Drop Point interface and begin buying back/duplicating the painting as many times as you can.

Once you’ve gathered a nice stack of paintings, back out of the glitched Drop Point interface and reopen as you would normally.

Now it’s time to get rich. Sell as many of your paintings as you can; Drop Points only have 20,000 Eddies to spend. Once the Drop Point is out of funds, hit the Touch Pad and wait for 24 hours.

Waiting is instantaneous

Now the Drop Point should have another 20,000 Eddies to spend on your paintings.

Rinse and repeat this ad infinitum until you get bored or become the wealthiest Cyberpunk in all of Night City.
