Spongebob Squarepants: Battle for Bikini Bottom Rehydrated Trophy Guide and Road Map for PlayStation 4
Welcome to our Spongebob Squarepants: Battle for Bikini Bottom Trophy Guide. This guide is for the “Rehydrated” version of the game; a PS4 remaster of a PS2 classic.
The game is a classic collect-em-up in the style of Ty the Tasmanian Tiger and will see you visiting several different themed levels from a central hub world so that you can earn Golden Spatulas and find your friend’s lost socks!
Phase One – Complete the Game
As nothing in the game is missable, there’s nothing to lose from just enjoying the game however you want to. Play through each level at your own pace and collect what you can as you go. Then you can return in Phase Two of this SpongeBob Squarepants Battle for Bikini Bottom Trophy Guide to do a full cleanup.
If you’re someone who likes to complete-as-they-play, then see our Golden Spatula Guide and our Lost Sock Locations Guide to help you make sure you don’t miss a thing on your journey through the main story.
Note that if you finish the game after having collected every Gold Spatula (which requires collecting every Lost Sock), you will see a secret ending that doesn’t play otherwise.
Unmissable Story Trophies
Jellyfish Jam
Defeat Jellyfish King
In the Spork Mountain area of Jellyfish Fields is the first boss of the game, King Jellyfish. To unlock Jellyfish Jam, you will need to defeat him.
King Jellyfish is surrounded by an electrified forcefield that prevents you from hitting him. It only drops when he slams the ground, sending out a shockwave.
Jump over the shockwave attack to hit him while he’s exposed. If the shockwave hits you, his forcefield will recover immediately.
Each time you hit him, he’ll spawn some Jellyfish enemies, which you may want to defeat, so they’re out of the way.
Hit him three times while his shields are down to defeat him and unlock this trophy.
Spatula Seeker
Collect 10 Golden Spatulas
Every level in Spongebob Squarepants: Battle for Bikini Bottom contains at least one Spatula. Many of them contain up to 8.
You progress in the game by completing objectives to earn these Golden Spatulas and then using those Spatulas to gain access to newer levels. To beat the game, you will need to have enough to enter the Chum Bucket, so collecting 10 Golden Spatulas is just a small step toward completing the story.
In terms of earning the Platinum Trophy, you will eventually need to collect all 100 Golden Spatulas to unlock Super Ultra Mega Spatula Seeker.
Life’s as extreme as you wanna make it!
Clear all the Ski slopes in Sand Mountain
The Sand Mountain level is split into four main areas; a hub area and three slopes.
Each slope costs 1,500 Shiny Objects to access and has a Golden Spatula at the end. All you need to do for the “Life’s as extreme as you wanna make it!” trophy is to slide from the top to the bottom of all three slides.
Shrimp Catcher
Defeat Prawn in the Mermalair.
After you’ve collected the Golden Spatula from the Computer in the Mermalair, you’ll be able to hit the switch next to her using a Bubble Bowl ability.
This will cause some nearby platforms to lower, giving you access to the Mermalair’s “Villain Containment Unit.”
Inside, you’ll meet an enemy called “Prawn,” who is a Prawn, of course.
Defeat the boss to unlock the Shrimp Catcher trophy.
To defeat Prawn, wait for his horn-blow attack to end and then Bubble-bowl a projectile at him from one of the blue paths on the tiles surrounding him.
Repeat this three times.
Shanghaied
Defeat the Flying Dutchman.
After activating all of the cannons and destroying all of the generators in the Flying Dutchman’s Ship area of the Flying Dutchman’s Graveyard level, activate the switch in the treasure chest to destroy the robot ship.
This will start a cutscene followed by a Boss Fight with the Flying Dutchman.
You’ll play as Sandy during this fight, and all you need to do is avoid his laser-eye attacks and then lasso his tail when you get a chance.
The attacks are easy to dodge because you can just double jump out of the way.
Then, once he starts spreading green fire across the platform, lasso his tail to damage him.
Repeat this three times to win and unlock the Shanghaied trophy.
Sweet Victory
Defeat Robo-Sandy in the Poseidome.
In Bikini Bottom, there’s a gate that you can’t pass without 15 Spatulas.
Approach it once you have 15 or more, and then press against it to enter the Poseidome.
This is a small boss area where your only objective is to defeat Robo-Sandy. Doing so will unlock the second portion of Bikini Bottom and the Bubble Bowl Ability.
Robo-Sandy has a few well-telegraphed and easy-to-avoid attacks. The one you want to look out for is when she ground pounds.
When she does this, stand near her to be launched upwards. Position yourself above Robo-Sandy and then ground-pound her helmet to damage her.
Repeat this three times until you’re playing as Patrick.
As Patrick, use her same ground-pound moves to launch up at her helmet but hold to grab it.
Run to the side of the arena and throw her head at the broken scoreboard to damage her some more.
Repeat this three times until you’re playing as SpongeBob again.
You will still need to ground-pound her helmet during this phase, but when you do, she will remove her head and hold it out in front of her.
Take this opportunity to stand under her head and press to bubble-bash it, damaging her.
Repeat this three more times, and the fight will end, unlocking the Sweet Victory trophy.
Toxic Terror
Defeat Robo-Patrick in the Industrial Park.
In Bikini Bottom’s second area, there’s a gate that costs 40 Gold Spatulas to enter.
Once you have all 40 that you need, approach the gate and press to enter the Industrial Park, where you must face Robo-Patrick.
If you’re successful in defeating Robo-Patrick, you’ll gain access to more of Bikini Bottom and will unlock the Toxic Terror trophy.
Patrick shoots a lot of projectiles throughout this fight, but if you just keep moving, you should avoid getting hit.
Eventually, Patrick will get dizzy and fall over, jump up and whack him on the sign on his back that says “Kick Me Here,” and repeat that until you’re playing as Sandy.
During the Sandy phase of the fight, you just want to swing around the arena using the Texas Hooks above. They’ll spawn extra platforms that can help you avoid the goo as its level rises throughout the fight.
Whenever Robo-Patrick gets dizzy and falls over, jump on the wooden platforms to reach his back and kick it. Repeat three times until you’re playing as SpongeBob again and the arena is totally flooded.
During the final phase of the fight, run around the around (anti-clockwise is easiest), avoiding Robo-Patrick’s projectiles until he gets dizzy. Once he’s dizzy, Bubble-bowl his back from the nearest platform to deal damage.
Repeat two more times to win the fight.
SpongeBob vs SpongeBob!
Defeat SpongeBot SteelPants in the Chum Bucket Lab.
Once you have at least 75 Golden Spatulas, go into the Chum Bucket in Bikini Bottom and then enter the door labeled “Kitchen.”
Inside, you’ll have to face Robo-SpongeBob and Robo-Plankton.
For the Robo-SpongeBob fight, you just have to use Cruise Bubble attacks to hit all of the green lights on Robo-SpongeBob’s body while avoiding getting hit by his karate attacks or Robo-Plankton’s electric projectiles.
Once you defeat Robo-SpongeBob, the SpongeBob vs. SpongeBob trophy will unlock.
The Small Does Not Rule
Defeat Robo-Plankton and neutralize SpongeBot SteelPants’ Brain.
After you’ve defeated Robo-Spongebob and unlocked SpongeBob vs SpongeBob, the next phase of the final level will begin, in which you need to beat Robo-Plankton.
Your objective here is to destroy seven blue lightbulb-like coils in the area.
At the next set of platforms, some Robots will spawn. Defeat them, and Robo-Plankton will fly down to attack you.
Hit Robo-Plankton with a Cruise Bubble to spawn some smaller platforms.
Use the platforms to reach a coil and break it.
Repeat this four times until you reach a small platform next to a huge machine. To get the last three coils, you need to shoot a Cruise Bubble down the yellow tunnel on the side of the machine.
Repeat this on all three sides of the machine (accessed via Bounce Pads) until all three have been destroyed.
Robo-Plankton will pester you during this section, but just cruise missile him every now and then to keep him stunned.
Once all three have been destroyed, the “The Small Does Not Rule” trophy will unlock, and you’ll automatically receive a Golden Spatula.
Phase Two – 100% Completion
During this second phase of our Bikini Bottom Trophy Guide, your final objective is to collect absolutely everything.
You will need to collect all 100 Golden Spatulas. Doing so will also require you to find all 80 of Patrick’s Lost Socks (see our Lost Sock Locations Guide), and you’ll also need at least 39,500 Shiny Objects to pay Mr. Krabs for his Spatulas.
An excellent place to farm Shiny Objects is the Guppy Mound slide in the Sand Mountain level. Replay it as much as you like to get around 1,000-1,200 Shiny Objects per attempt.
Many of the spatulas require you to defeat bosses or complete missions within levels, most of which have a trophy of their own, or contribute to one.
On top of collecting the remaining Spatulas, you’ll need to make sure you’ve defeated every robot enemy type at least once and have defeated at least 100 enemies with each character.

Don’t forget to collect the yellow Shiny Objects near the ceiling in the bathroom. I did, and thus this trophy ended up being the last one I unlocked!

Area | No. of Wheels |
---|---|
Downtown Streets | 5 |
Downtown Rooftops | 3 |
The Lighthouse | 1 |

Surf’s Up!
Finish the main missions of Goo Lagoon
In Goo Lagoon, there are three missions to complete, each of which will result in you getting a Golden Spatula;
- Connect all of the Lifeguard Towers for Larry by hitting the switches on their sides to redirect light between them, destroying the robot at the end of the level.
- Find all of the kids stuck in the air because they have too many balloons for Mrs. Puff. Press as SpongeBob while under a floating kid to bring them back down.

Once all three missions are done, the Surf’s Up! trophy will unlock even if you haven’t collected the Spatulas for them.
Keep it Rolling
Complete the Rolling Ball Puzzle in Mermalair.
There’s an area in the Mermalair called the Rolling Ball area, where there’s a long rolling ball puzzle to solve.
To solve it and earn your Spatula as well as the “Keep it Rolling” trophy, do the following:
- Bubble-bowl the button at the top of the red ramp.
- Bubble-bowl the wheel under the track to the right anti-clockwise to get the ball across the gap.

- Once the ball has crossed, dash to the right, past the enemies, to push a button.
- The ball will roll onto a tilting platform. Use your weight to tilt it into the tube on the right.
- Jump to the platform with the fan on it and try to hit the button as the fan turns.
- Hit the button before the ball reaches the bottom of the tube to unlock the trophy!

Finish the main missions of Rock Bottom.
There are two main objectives in the Rock Bottom level.

Plankton wants you to turn on three laser machines throughout the level.

Once you have the Golden Spatulas from both Mrs. Puff and Plankton, the Hit Rock Bottom trophy will unlock.
Kelp Forest of Fear
Find all the Lost Campers in Kelp Forest.
You can find Mrs. Puff near the start of the Kelp Forest level. She will ask you to find six lost Campers in the Kelp Forest level.
All you need to do is approach each one to mark them as found. There are three in the Kelp Forest Entrance area, two in the Kelp Swamp area, and one in the Kelp Caves.
Once you’ve found all six, return to Mrs. Puff for a Golden Spatula and the Kelp Forest of Fear trophy!

Reclaim the Flying Dutchman’s ship in the Flying Dutchman’s Graveyard.
In the final area of the Flying Dutchman’s Graveyard, you’ll be told by Mr. Krabs to deactivate all four generators on the Robot Ship so that when you activate all four of the cannons, you can shoot the ship down.
Each cannon has a button next to it that can be pushed to activate it.
Find and activate all four cannons to spawn a Golden Spatula and unlock the Ship Shape trophy, even if you don’t successfully shoot the ship down.
Sleepy Time
Find all Golden Spatulas in the SpongeBob’s Dream level.
Spongebob’s Dream is one of the levels available in the third area of Bikini Bottom. Access it by standing in the sand circle at the center and pressing .
Spongebob’s Dream is also a hub world of sorts, branching off to four other small areas; Sandy’s Dream, Squidward’s Dream, Mr. Krabs’ Dream, and Patrick’s Dream.
Collect all 8 Spatulas from across these five areas, and the Sleepy Time trophy will unlock.

Squirrel Smasher
Defeat 100 robots as Sandy
In many stages, you can use a Bus Stop to switch between playing as Sandy and SpongeBob. Throughout the game, you’ll have to defeat a lot of Robots as Sandy, so there’s a strong chance that this trophy will unlock naturally.
You just need to destroy 100 Robots while playing as Sandy to unlock the Squirrel Smasher trophy.
Star Smasher
Defeat 100 robots as Patrick
You can use a Bus Stop to switch between playing as Patrick and SpongeBob in some stages. Throughout the game, you’ll have to defeat a lot of Robots as Patrick, so there’s a strong chance that this trophy will unlock naturally.
You just need to destroy 100 Robots while playing as Patrick to unlock the Star Smasher trophy.
Sponge Smasher
Defeat 100 robots as SpongeBob
This trophy is highly likely to unlock naturally, as you will play as Spongebob a lot throughout the game’s ten levels.
Simply defeat a grand total of 100 robots to unlock the Sponge Smasher trophy. As this trophy is cumulative, you don’t need to try and destroy all 100 in one sitting.
If you wish, you can farm this trophy by letting a Duplicatron spawn infinite enemies.
Robot encyclopedia
Destroy at least one type of every robot in the game while playing the campaign. Bosses don’t count.
You will likely fight and defeat all of these robot enemies at least once each, but if you’re particularly evasive, you may need to go and pick a few fights.
The Robot encyclopedia trophy will unlock once you have defeated at least one of each type of robot enemy.
Use the table below to see each enemy type and how best to defeat them.
Robot Name | Robot Description | How to defeat |
---|---|---|
Fodder | Basic robot enemy. | Just hit it with . |
Ham-Mer | Large robot with a ham-shaped hammer. | Just hit it with . |
Tar-Tar | Shoots Tar-tar sauce projectiles at you, three at a time. | Hit it from a distance with Bubble-bowl, Throw fruit, or Lasso. |
G-Love | UFO-shaped robot with many hands. | A ground-pound attack from above is highly effective. |
Chomp | Small robot that barks and chases you. | Just hit it with . |
Bomb-bot | Starts beeping when you get close and explodes—small round robot. | Just hit it with . |
Arf | Looks like a Cowboy holding a Chicken Coop. Spawns Chomp bots. | Hit it with or Bubble Bowl. Sometimes they move after being hit and will take 2-3 hits. |
Sleepy-Time | Sleeps under a huge detection dome. If you move inside the dome without sneaking ( as SpongeBob), it will shoot you with a laser. | Either sneak up and hit it as SpongeBob, or use a Throw Fruit or Lasso from outside the detection dome. |
BZZT-Bot | Small square robot that shoots a continuous laser. | Hit it with . |
Chuck | Large flying bot which shoots huge water missiles. | Jump up to it and hit it with or use a ranged attack like Cruise Bubble. |
Slick | Has a big bubble shield and throws oil puddles at you. | You need to hit it once to break the shield and then again to damage it. Cruise Missile is best for this and kills the bot in one hit once the shield is down. The Lasso can destroy them even faster in just a single attack. |
Monsoon | Medium-sized robot that uses an Umbrella to float around. Spawns stormclouds that try to zap you. | Either Bubble-bash up at them or just jump up and hit them with . |
