Operation Tango Trophy Guide and Road Map for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5
Operation: Tango is a two-player co-op game released in June 2021, with the PS5 version being free to users on PS Plus. The gameplay is similar to We Were Here in that you and a friend must work together using voice chat to share information that only you can access as a Hacker or Agent. Via this Operation Tango Trophy Guide, we aim to give you the smoothest route to the game’s straightforward Platinum Trophy.
Operation Tango Trophy Guide – Before You Begin
Online Co-op Play
Operation Tango cannot be played solo or locally; it will require an online connection, a friend to play it with, and PS Plus. To get all trophies, you will each need to play all six missions as both characters, The Hacker and The Agent; thus, the game will require two full playthroughs.
Hints
If you get stuck at any time, just pause the game with and select “Hints.”
There, you can request a hint for free, your partner just needs to confirm that they’d also like a hint and you’ll then be given pretty clear instructions on what to do next.
This won’t affect your trophies in any way, so feel free to abuse this system as much as you like for an easier platinum journey. In fact, you will need to do this at least once for a trophy.
Phase One – Play Through Each Level
In this Phase of our Operation Tango Trophy Guide, you simply need to play through the game as either the Agent or the Hacker with a partner. Each of you will either get the orange trophies (as an Agent) or the blue trophies (as a Hacker) for each mission that you complete and will then earn the others during Phase Two of our Operation Tango Trophy Guide.
There’s also a handful of Misc Trophies to look out for. Some of them are specific to the Agent and others are specific to the Hacker. If you do your first playthrough as the Agent, for example, you should ensure that you take the time to unlock the orange misc trophies as you play through the game. If you’re the Hacker, keep an eye out for opportunities to earn the blue ones.
Aside from the misc trophies, all other trophies are completely unmissable and will unlock with each level you complete. If you get stuck at any point, use the Hints for a consequence-free nudge in the right direction.
Unmissable Story Trophies
As explained above, you will only be able to get either the orange or blue story trophies in this first playthrough. You will then earn the others in your next playthrough.

For Your Eyes Only
Request a Hint
This trophy is very straight-forward. You can request a hint at any time with no penalties from the pause menu. Just pause the game with and then select “Hint” to bring up the Hints menu. Press to request a hint and then wait for your partner to confirm that they’d also like to see a hint.
Once the hint appears, the trophy will unlock.
License to Kill
Kill your partner as an agent
Killing your partner as an agent can be done as early as the first mission. In the underground Bank Vault, after you’ve hacked the four consoles in the corners of the room, the center console will become hackable. For this section, you will need to place platforms that the Hacker can use to cross a virtual space.
places a platform and removes it. To kill the Hacker, place a platform so that he can stand on it, then press to remove that platform while he is standing on it.
You will get another opportunity for this later in the game when the puzzle reappears during Mission 4.
Live and Let Die
Kill your partner as a hacker
The easiest place to kill your partner as a Hacker is in the second mission. At the end of the level, the Agent will need to escape the building via the basement, when she reaches the basement a defense turret on the ceiling will track her and try to shoot at her.
The Hacker needs to take over this turret and then shoot at electrical boxes in positions identified by the Agent. Instead of shooting the electrical boxes, just shoot the Agent. She will die and the game will reload from the last checkpoint, but you’ll get a trophy!
The Spy Who Loved Me
Use all emotes as an agent
As the Agent, when looking at a security camera, you can press to bring up an emote wheel. There’s only a handful of emotes on that wheel and you’ll need to use them all once each to unlock this trophy. You can do this in any level with a security camera.
You can also emote on the Turret in Mission 2 and the Cleaning Robots in Mission 5. Anything with a camera that the Hacker can see you through, essentially. The earliest opportunity to do this is on the security camera inside the elevator at the start of Mission 1.
Icebreaker
Send three messages to your partner as a hacker
There’s only a handful of places where you can send messages to the Agent as the Hacker. The best and easiest place to do this is in the Elevator at the start of Mission 1, but the Train in Mission 3 is a good place for this also.
During the Elevator section of Mission 1, you’ll see a difficult-to-miss text box appear once the elevator reaches the Penthouse that says “Display a custom message to a visitor”.
Select the text box and a list of possible messages will come up. Whatever you select will be displayed on the door in the elevator, where the Agent is waiting for you to open it.
Select three different messages to display in a row and the trophy will unlock.
From Montreal, with Love
Find Clever Plays on the world map
For this trophy you just need to find the offices of the developers, Clever Plays, on the world map where missions are selected. As the trophy name suggests, Clever Plays are based in Montreal, Canada. You will both need to find this location with your cursors and select it with .
You’ll know when you’ve found it because your icon will appear on the map even though there’s no mission icon there. Your partner then needs to select the same spot on the map so that both of your icons have appeared, then the Clever Plays logo will appear on the map between you and the trophy will unlock!
Phase Two – Play Through Each Level Again with the Other Character
In this second Phase of our Operation Tango Trophy Guide, it is time to play the game through again, this time using the character you weren’t able to play as during your first playthrough.
Again, the game is not too challenging and you have access to free hints from the pause menu so you shouldn’t have too much trouble. You will also have a lot of insight from your first playthrough, so this second run should be much quicker.
Don’t forget to set aside time to acquire the Misc Trophies for the character you’re using.
Complete the Game as Both Characters
You Only Live Twice
Complete all missions with both characters
Once you have successfully finished the game a second time with the second character, this trophy will unlock. It’s essentially unmissable as long as you’ve completed every mission twice; once with each character.
