Trophy Guide
Golf Zero Trophy Guide and Road Map for PlayStation 4
Welcome to our Golf Zero Trophy Guide. Golf Zero is a unique blend of 2D side-scrolling platformer and Minigolf game, combining the frustrating die-and-retry gameplay of Super Meat Boy with the side-on golf mechanics of Party Golf.
You must platform across treacherous grounds in order to hit, chase, and putt your golf ball. You’ll come across many obstacles to your progress, including spikes, enemies, and even a giant boulder.
The most alluring part of this game–at least, for trophy hunters–is undoubtedly the easy Golf Zero Platinum Trophy which can be earned in as little as 30 minutes.
Phase One – Die, Earn a Gold in Level 9, and Complete 41 Levels
In this sole phase of our Golf Zero Trophy Guide, you will simply want to work your way through the first 41 levels in the game. Through doing so, you will unavoidably unlock at least 8 of the 11 Gold Trophies available in Golf Zero.
Some trophies, tagged below as semi-missable, will ask you to perform certain additional tasks, though it will be nothing extraneous.
You do not need to get a Gold medal on every stage. You will only need to do this on one stage; Level 9. For every other stage, any medal is fine as long as you complete the first 41.
I have rearranged the trophies into chronological order to help ensure that you don’t miss anything on your way through the game. If you miss any, you can replay levels from the main menu.
Use to jump and to move. You can jump against walls to climb up them.
When ready to shoot, press to begin aiming, then quickly use to move your aim clockwise or to move it anti-clockwise. When ready, press again before the time runs out to take the shot.
You should note that you can take a shot in mid-air, and you will need to be able to do this in order to beat level 2. Also, it doesn’t matter if you die, as long as the ball goes in the hole, otherwise the level will reset.
You can quickly reset a level by pressing or .

Next Time
Die the first time.
You can earn the Next Time trophy in any level by simply jumping to your death from the edge of a platform, or finding a more exciting way to die, like being impaled on spikes or lightly grazed by a Slime.
Either way, dying for the first time will unlock the Next Time trophy. You can do this as early as you like, or wait and see if you can beat all 41 levels without dying, then load any level and succumb to the cold inevitability of death.
Starting
Complete the first level.
You will notice that the “Starting” trophy doesn’t unlock after the first or even second level. This is because the first two levels are simply tutorial stages and are not actual puzzles. Get past those and then complete the third level, on an island with two houses, to unlock the Starting trophy.
Jumping high
Complete the level 6.
Level 6 is the first stage to include a bounce pad/spring. Complete it by jumping on the bounce pad and then firing balls at the hole as you sail through the air past it and into the water. The Jumping High trophy will then unlock.
Enemy
Overcome your first enemy and complete level 7.
Immediately after earning Jumping High, your next level will contain the game’s first enemy. There’s two ways to complete this level;
You can jump over the spikes to your right and then skilfully get the ball into the hole by firing your shot in mid-air as you fall. Or, you can jump over the spikes and carefully land on the platform below. From there, jump on the slime enemy to spring up into the air, and then shoot from in mid-air.
Once you complete the level, the “Enemy” trophy will unlock.
Hole in one
Get gold and use only one ball in level 9.
Level 9 is a stage containing a lot of spikes. To your right, there will be two columns of grass with spikes on the sides and top. Further to the right, you will see some sort of curved grass structure with the balloon at the top.
To get a gold medal in level 9 and unlock the Hole in One trophy, jump across both grass columns and fall down between the right-most column and the curved structure where the balloon is.
When you land, you will be looking at the balloon with the flag below you. Simply aim your ball at the balloon and then fire. The ball will pop the balloon and then roll straight into the hole.
Make sure you only fire one ball, as more than that will void the trophy.
The Gold Medal will be awarded and you will unlock the Hole in One trophy, as well as the Gold trophy if you don’t already have it.
Gold
Get a gold medal.
You must earn a gold medal in level 9 in order to unlock the Hole in one trophy. Doing so will also unlock this “Gold” trophy if you didn’t already earn it.
A Door!
Complete the level 14.
Level 14 is the first stage with a large red button to press, which then opens a door. You will need to jump towards the door and fire a ball at the button in mid-air to open it.
Pass through the door and then jump off the opposite end of this platform to then fire your remaining balls towards the hole in the hopes that they go in.
A quicker way to complete the stage, though, is to fire a ball from mid-air over the top of the button and into the hole. You don’t even need to open the door.
Successful completion of this level, however you achieve it, will earn you the “A Door!” trophy.
Faster
Complete the level 22.
At the start of Level 22, you will be between some doors with a boulder to your left. Above you, and to your left, you will see a button.
Pressing the button will release the boulder, but will also allow you to leave. You must push the button and then quickly run to your right, avoid the obstacles and buzz-saws then jump onto the brown platform to the right of the flag.
From there, the boulder cannot reach you and you are safe to take a few shots at the hole.
Complete Level 22 however you see fit and the Faster trophy will unlock.
Driving?
Complete your first level with a cart.
The first Level to contain a Cart is Level 24.
Jump in the cart and ride it across the spikes to the right. Near the end of the level, jump into the air from the cart and then take a mid-air shot at the hole.
Successfully complete Level 24 and the Driving? Trophy is yours.
Almost finished
Complete the level 31.
From around Level 28, the stages start to get a lot trickier and will undoubtedly take you a great many attempts to overcome. Power through and complete Level 31 to unlock “Almost finished”. And let the fact that you are indeed almost finished motivate you to complete this final stretch of the platinum journey.
Racing
Complete the level 41.
The 41st Level will take a good while to reach as the levels from 31 to 41 are very difficult and will require a lot of trial and error and some quick reflexes.
When you reach Level 41, you’ll find that it is a new variation on the now-stale gameplay. You will need to race the red character to the flag and get your ball in the hole quicker than they can.
It’s fairly easy, just drop straight down onto the spring, hop up the wall you land on and then quickly jump off the right side of the platform while firing balls up and to the left, into the hole.
It might take you a few attempts, but once you finally beat Level 41, the Racing trophy will unlock.
