The outside world is getting scary these days, with COVID-19 running rampant and no apparent end in sight. Don’t worry though, we have you covered with this list of 8 PS4 platinum trophies guaranteed to take you longer than a day or two to get—and might even require some level of godlike skill.
On an unrelated note, can whoever is in charge please pop those blue science research bubbles so we can sort this mess out?
The List
We looked through the great PS4 titles from it’s entire lifetime to find Platinum Trophies which will offer plenty for you to do and a world you can really get sucked into. Find yourself lost in these great games while you maybe pick up some trophies along the way!
Without further adieu, and in no particular order, here we go;
1. Final Fantasy XV – 80 hours
Final Fantasy XV is one of the series’ better and more highly rated games. Featuring an action-packed dynamic combat system and a huge world teeming with small secrets and side-activities, it really is hard not to get lost.
Trophy Hunters will spend a lot of time enjoying everything the game has to offer to its fullest, including a long and somewhat difficult dungeon dedicated entirely to platforming, which will reward them with the game’s most deadly weapon.
Those who wish to extend their stay in Eos can also enjoy the game’s DLC content, each of which feature unique mechanics and combat scenarios, and proving to be packed with new content, collectibles, and lengthy trophy lists.
Whether it’s soaring in a flying car, taking photos with your buds or heading out on a relaxing fishing trip, you’ll always find entertainment in FFXV.
2. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice – 60 hours
Clocking in at around 60 hours to platinum, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is a difficult game to master, but ultra satisfying once you do.
Playing as a shinobi during the Sengoku period, you are tasked with taking revenge on a rival clan who has kidnapped your young lord. Along the way you will face many bandits armed with axes, katanas, spears and bows, but also a giant 8 foot drunken samurai, an obscenely large bull with flaming horns and a frankly terrifying giant serpent. From Software definitely makes some memorable and difficult games and we think Sekiro is the culmination of all their talent and everything they’ve learned since Demon Souls.
If you’re feeling like a strong, hearty challenge is exactly what you need to get over your quarantine blues, then we would definitely recommend you try Sekiro.

3. XCOM 2 – 100 hours
XCOM was first published in 1994 on the PlayStation and was instantly a huge success for the developers—Mythos Games. A cult following quickly developed among strategy fans and XCOM: Enemy Unknown became known as one of the best games ever made.
22 years—and several XCOM games—later, XCOM 2 released on PS4 and once again received critical acclaim from critics and fans alike, with many praising the emphasis on narrative this time around. XCOM 2, like many games in the series before it, is a sci-fi strategy game that sees you defending against an alien invasion. The game is played in top-down mode and utilises turn-based tactics. Players control their team of 4 soldiers to eliminate enemy aliens on the map and complete secondary objectives.
XCOM 2 will take you 100 hours at the very least to platinum, however, the difficulty is extreme with, possibly the toughest trophy, requiring you to play through the whole game on the hardest difficulty WITHOUT losing a soldier.
4. Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom – 85 hours
We’ve said it before, but if Studio Ghibli made video games, then they’d look a lot like Ni no Kuni.
The visuals are endlessly charming, and the gameplay is satisfying beyond any measure. Ni no Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom follows a young, freshly usurped king as he set out to rebuild his kingdom. Along the way. he’ll encounter various characters, all of whom are well-designed and prove instantly memorable, who will join his party and fight alongside him.
If you’re a fan of RPGs and cute visuals, then look no further than Ni no Kuni 2. The best bit is, you don’t need to have played the first game to enjoy this one! Although, Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch was remastered recently so you could check that out too.

5. Death Stranding – 100 hours
Why are we still here? Just to suffer? Well no, it turns out we’re all still here because Kojima isn’t done with us yet.
At its core, Death Stranding is a game about connecting people, and it achieves this in some clever ways. As you play the game and make your deliveries, you will encounter other players’ structures left behind from their own journeys which you’re free to use as you see fit. You can even share your supplies and gear with other players and help contribute to rebuilding roads to make getting from point A to B much easier. Add in some amazing performances from Norman Reedus and Mads Mikkelsen, and you’ve got a truly masterful game on your hands.
Death Stranding is probably the most “Kojima” game you could think of, and for good reason. Every scene feels heavy with meaning and the minute to minute gameplay has you asking yourself if you needed to pack a ladder for this trip or if it’s worth the risk of crossing that stream.

6. Bloodborne – 50 hours
Dark Souls appeals to me because I think From Software has a real cool take on dark European medieval aesthetics and that take carries over to Bloodborne but with an added influence from HP Lovecraft.
You play as a hunter during a terrible night in Yharnam. The poor inhabitants seem to be afflicted with a strange blood-borne disease that is slowly corrupting them and turning them into beasts. You’re not alone however as other players can leave notes warning you of upcoming dangers or secrets and even join you in boss fights to try to level the playing field. During the 50h Time To Platinum, you will face some terrifying Eldritch bosses as you try to uncover the truth of the Old Blood and collecting all available weapons.

7. Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey – 70 hours
The Assassin’s Creed games are very hit and miss with many people. However, it would be difficult to argue that Ubisoft are not excellent at bringing history to life in a way others struggle to do.
This time we’re taken to ancient Greece and given an entire world of conspiracies, war and ever-lasting conflict to explore. With secrets behind every ruin and exciting mysteries to uncover, we’re sure you’ll struggle to pull yourself away as you mutter “I’ll just see what’s over this hill, here”.
The trophy list takes full advantage of the enormous map, and some subplots are truly gripping.

8. Days Gone – 60 hours
Wrapping up this quarantine list is a game where the world has fallen into complete collapse as a virus that turns people into mindless zombie-like creatures has taken over.
You play as Deacon St. John as he takes his trusty motorcycle—that you can upgrade over the course of the game—on a journey to discover what became of his wife after they were separated only a few hours into the outbreak. The story is long but just before it becomes a problem; you get given a new region of the map to explore and scavenge, and a new cast of ch
aracters to interact with. The “Freaker” swarms are the true star of this game, and if you’re not paying attention, you will quickly become overwhelmed.
Luckily, there’s an in-game trophy tracker, which is sure to help any hunter that wishes to tackle this 60 hour platinum.
