Trophy Guide

The Forgotten City Trophy Guide and Walkthrough for PS4 & PS5

Welcome to our The Forgotten City Trophy Guide.

The Forgotten City has a lot of moving parts, specific dialogue options, and missable trophies, so it can be a bit of a mind-melter when trying to tackle the trophy journey solo, resulting in myriad unnecessary playthroughs. To try and mitigate that, I’ve written this Trophy Guide in a bit of a different format to our usual ones. This is more of a Walkthrough.

At the start of each Trophy Phase below, you will find a full walkthrough for that playthrough, which will result in receiving a broad selection of trophies as you progress. Each Phase is tied to an individual playthrough, with the goal of you completing the minimum of four playthroughs and earning every trophy along the way.

However, if you are here looking for just one trophy that you’ve missed, I’ve provided each trophy as normal with separate instructions for earning them where possible. That said, the easiest way to earn the Forgotten City Platinum Trophy will simply be to follow the walkthroughs provided here.

Throughout, I’ll tell you everything from collectible locations to the correct dialogue options, making it as simple as possible to breeze through all four playthroughs of The Forgotten City, collecting every trophy along the way. I will also frequently make you aware of good places to make a new save, which I’ll label for convenience. That said, please do feel free to make as many manual saves as you like for your own peace of mind. It never hurts to be able to undo a mistake real quick.

Phase One | The True Ending & Pacifist Run

At the start of your journey with our The Forgotten City Trophy Guide & Walkthrough, when speaking to the Stranger, select the Male Body Type and the Covert Mission backstory.

You will then start with 10 bullets in your gun. Be sure not to use them until instructed in this walkthrough, or you may find yourself low on ammo when you most need it.

In this first playthrough, we will be getting a lot of trophies out of the way and aiming to complete your pacifist run, in which you’ll talk your way out of conflict rather than fighting with humans.

First things first, though, let’s get a very easy trophy out of the way. Press to open Photo Mode, unlocking the Tourist trophy.

Once done, head along the linear path into the city. After traveling through the portal and arriving in the Forgotten City, a man in rags called Galerius will introduce himself.

When speaking to Galerius, select the following options:

  1. I’m [Your Name], and I got lost. (Lie)
  2. No thanks, I’ll make my own way.
  3. Don’t worry about me. I know what I’m doing.

You will then unlock the Maverick trophy!

From there, head down the stairs to the slums and look for a woman with long black hair called Aurelia.

Speak to her and select the following option:

  1. Not interested, sorry.

Immediately, you will unlock the Smooth Talker trophy.

Now we can collect the first of 10 different Graffiti tags needed for Avid Reader. You will find Graffiti 1/10 on the wall behind a small stall at the other end of the tunnel where Aurelia hangs out.

Opposite that, on the corner, you’ll find Graffiti 2/10.

Head up the stairs from there onto the walkway above the tunnel you came through.

In the room at the far end of the walkway, you’ll find an “Incomplete Note” on the table. Make sure you read it as this will be important for a quest.

Go back down the stairs and then climb the other stairs opposite.

At the top, in the first room, you’ll find a small wooden chest called “Naevia’s Chest.” Open it and retrieve the “Key to the Chest in the Shrine of Apollo” from it.

Go back down the stairs and then enter the small room behind them to find Graffiti 3/10 on the back wall inside.

Leave the room and enter the archway next to it, leading into a cavern containing many gold statues.

Next to the three gold statues at the back, there’s some more graffiti on the wall. Graffiti 4/10.

Turn around, head up the stairs, and go down the tunnel’s left path.

You’ll eventually come to a small wooden shack.

Enter the shack and open the Old Chest, taking both the money and the wine from inside.

This is all we need from the Slums, so now go all the way back outside and back through the tunnel you entered where Aurelia was.

Outside the slums, turn left and follow the path.

At the campfire, go down the path on the right.

Immediately, keep your eye out for Graffiti 5/10 on the wall inside a crevice to your left.

Continue following this path until you come to a fork in the path.

Go left up the ramp and under the archway.

Instead of continuing up the stairs, though, turn left as soon as you can and then look for an NPC called Vergil scrubbing the wall of the building to your right.

He’s scrubbing Graffiti 6/10 off the wall of his shop, so be sure to read it.

To your left, as you’re looking at the graffiti, there are some stairs that lead behind Vergil’s Shop.

At the back, there’s a small building full of toilets.

Enter it and then check the walls for Graffiti 6, 7, and 8/10.

While in the toilets, be sure to grab a “Sponge Stick” from the ground near the center of the room, unlocking the Unhygenic trophy.

When you exit the bathhouse, you will see a barrel in front of you. Jump onto the barrel and then jump up onto the wall. You’ll be behind a shrine.

Carefully move to the front of the shrine (we’re trying not to trigger any dialogue) and read the note next to its door.

Once done, move to the front of the shrine and begin walking towards the stairs and some dialogue will trigger. A desperate woman will ask for your help. Select the following options:

  1. I’ll get right on it.
  2. Do not go in there!
  3. Just trust me.
  4. Wait, who are you?

By doing this, we’ve saved her life and you should earn the Trickster trophy.

When she runs away, walk past where she was and towards the “Roman Baths” quest marker.

As you approach the door, another dialogue sequence will trigger and an armed man will come through the doors. Select the following dialogue option:

  1. Yes. I saw him worshipping a small round shrine just inside the city. Second Building on your left. (Lie).

Once done, turn around and walk towards the tree ahead of you, opposite the Roman Baths.

Eventually, you’ll see a path to your right, just before the stairs heading down to the aforementioned tree.

Follow this path to reach a large auditorium.

There, between two decorative trees, you’ll find Graffiti 9/10 on the wall.

Once you’ve got it, turn around again and return to the small shrine where you read the warning note earlier.

The bowman you directed earlier will enter the shrine, which will then collapse on him, neutralising him.

Interact with his body on the ground and take everything from his inventory, including a bow.

Opposite the shrine, there’s a brick building with a small jail cell inside it.

Approach the cell and speak to the man inside it. Choose the following options:

  1. What’s your story?
  2. What did you do?
  3. Did somebody think you were going to steal?
  4. Is that all?
  5. A liability?
  6. It says they caught you trespassing…
  7. What treasure?
  8. If you give me the key, I can try to find out what it unlocks.
  9. Let me talk to the Magistrate about getting you out of here.
  10. Then maybe it’s time we had a new Magistrate.
  11. I’ll get right on it.

Leave and head down the stairs towards the aforementioned tree, into a small marketplace. There, speak to the NPC named Desius.

Select the following options:

  1. Go on.
  2. No.
  3. I’m interested.
  4. I am.
  5. A golden bow?
  6. I don’t have any questions right now.
  7. Alright, I’ll do it.

Enter the large shrine near the market, where the quest marker is pointing.

Inside, interact with both Braziers using to extinguish them.

Once done, replace the Golden Bow in the statue’s hands with the fake that Desius gave you. You can jump up onto one of the braziers to help you reach. Make sure you grab the quiver of arrows from the statue’s feet.

Now, create a manual save via the menu. As we need to juggle saves a little bit, I’ll be numbering each save so that there’s no confusion. This will be Save #1.

After saving, use the bow to shoot the Hornets Nest on the ceiling of the temple.

It will turn to gold and drop onto the ground, breaking a hole into the floor. More Hornets will fill the temple.

To unlock the next trophy, you need to just stand there, letting the Hornets slowly hurt you. This will take a good couple of minutes, so just set your controller down for a moment.

Once the Hornets eventually kill you, you will unlock the Allergic trophy.

Obviously, you’re now dead. So, from the death screen, select “Continue from Last Save,” which will load Save #1 from earlier.

Shoot down the nest again but, this time, instead of letting the Hornets kill you, jump down the hole that the nest creates in the floor.

As you make your way through the underground section, collect arrows, and shoot enemies & plant-life in the tunnel with the Golden Bow.

Upon doing so for the first time, you’ll unlock the Golden Archer trophy.

Continuing on, the tunnels lead into a Palace that you need to work your way through. It’s a pretty linear route, but the whole time you’re there, you should be working on the Striker trophy. (See Striker for more information).

Essentially, you will need to kick gilded enemies into non-gilded enemies 10 times. If you don’t achieve this here, you’ll have a hard time earning it and may need to do it in a separate cleanup playthrough. This section of the game is long and you will have plenty of opportunity to progress the Striker trophy.

Just keep progressing through the linear section, fighting Peeled Statues and gilding greenery until you reach a “Half-Peeled Statue.” While speaking to it, you’ll be interrupted by Naevia.

Say the following to her:

  1. You must be Naevia.
  2. This has nothing to do with me.
  3. It’s not just this statue whispering to me. A lot of them do it…
  4. It’s like someone else…
  5. No, I swear.
  6. I ended up here by accident. All I want to do is leave.
  7. I got trapped in tunnels under the city…
  8. I never had any intention of hurting you.
  9. Wait! I can undo this!
  10. I can cover her in gold again.
  11. This golden bow is the weapon that encases people in gold.
  12. Alright. Stand back.

Then shoot the half-peeled statue with the golden bow to progress. Naevia will give you the Key to the Chest in the Shrine of Apollo.

Say goodbye to Naevia and then leave out of the doorway behind the half-peeled statue. There, in the bright light of day, you’ll unlock the Survivor trophy!

Using your Golden Bow on the plants near the balcony where you earned Survivor, climb down to the street below.

From there, follow the road left until you see some stairs on your right. Walk down them.

Ahead of you, near a water feature, you will find Underground Explorer Statue 1/4. Stand next to it to hear it whisper, and then continue down the stairs.

Keep going forwards until you see an NPC called Equitia in a white robe to your left. If she’s not there, continue down the stairs on your left.

At the bottom, enter the house on the left and she should be inside.

Speak to her and select the following dialogue options:

  1. What’s your story?
  2. I’m in a hurry.
  3. How did you end up here?
  4. A stranger dragged me out of a river…
  5. What were you going to say?
  6. Alright, I’ll do that.
  7. I’ll be careful.
  8. I’ll get right on it.

You’ll now have begun a rather vague quest. Make your way around the surrounding area, speaking to NPCs. With each one you speak to, ask them “What’s your story?” followed by “How did you end up here?”

You will know when you’ve spoken to enough NPCs as the “The Common Thread” quest Equitia gave you will progress to the next step. Return to Equitia and choose the following options:

  1. I’ve been asking people about how they wound up here…
  2. Some people mentioned a coin.
  3. Some people mentioned a river.
  4. Some people mentioned memory lapses.
  5. I did, a young woman.
  6. No, I didn’t.
  7. She was wearing a hoodie…
  8. Alright, I’ll meet you in the baths.

Next, follow Equitia and she’ll lead you to the bath house. Speak with her inside, at the far end of the large pool.

Select the following:

  1. This place is the Underworld?
  2. I don’t have any questions right now (feel free to ask some first, though).
  3. Can’t we just escape the way we came in?
  4. I’ve noticed you seem uncomfortable calling the…
  5. Tell me more about confronting Pluto head-on.
  6. Hercules couldn’t manipulate time or turn organic matter into gold…
  7. What can you tell me about the obelisk?

You will then have four options to ask her about each of the four plaques. Select all four to have her describe their locations. Continuing on, tell her you’d like to talk about something else, then select…

  1. Tell me more about escaping with the help of…
  2. That’s horrible.
  3. I hear the female statues whispering to me every now and then.
  4. It’s always the same voice, and she’s helpful, if a little cryptic.
  5. Not yet.
  6. Alright, I’m ready to get started.
  7. I’ll have a chat with Livia first.

During that conversation, you should unlock the Bloodless Shadow trophy.

Now, leave the bathhouse and return to the market where you were questioning people earlier.

On your way back to the market, go right towards the auditorium where we found Graffiti 9/10.

Here, look for a pillar with some vines growing down the side of it. Shoot them with the Golden Bow to gild them so that you can climb to the top of the pillar and loot the chest. You may earn Treasure Hunter here.

Climb back down, head up the ramp opposite the vines, and follow the path.

Duck inside the cave and then follow the path left to a campfire, next to which you’ll see a statue on a wheel.

Approach the statue close enough that it turns its head to face you. This is Underground Explorer Statue 2/4.

Next to this statue is a chest, open it and loot the contents.

Head back towards the entrance but then turn left and continue exploring the cave. Make your way through the cave to the Roman Plaque and collect it.

On the wall near the locked gate, there’s a key you can use to unlock the gate and leave.

Go all the way back to the market.

At the market, there’s a large temple with red and gold banners hanging on its front facade, opposite the temple where you got the Golden Bow.

Head inside and open the chest on your left. Loot the contents.

In the same temple, speak to Lucretia, the woman in the red and white robes. She will offer you a quest. Be sure to accept it now if you didn’t already accept it when you were earlier questioning people. Be sure to say the following to her also:

  1. What’s your story?
  2. Tell me more about Naevia.
  3. Who?
  4. Actually, I already figured out the treatment for rheumatism.
  5. Willow bark.
  6. Alright I can do that.
  7. I’ll be going now.

Leave the temple and then enter Vergil’s shop at the other side of the street and to your left. It’s the store that had the “Sinner” graffiti on it, which Vergil himself was scrubbing earlier.

Speak to Vergil inside and say the following:

  1. I noticed the graffiti. Why does someone think you’re a sinner?
  2. You like men?
  3. I’m sorry to hear that.
  4. Do you know who’s writing the graffiti?
  5. Cultists?
  6. I think I already know who it is.
  7. It’s Rufius. I found an incomplete letter to you in his house.
  8. Not yet.
  9. I’ll be going now.

You should have a quest marker in the “The Sinner” questline now, which leads direct to Rufius.

Find and speak to him, selecting the following options:

  1. About your rheumatism…
  2. I figured out a treatment.
  3. Are you the one threatening Vergil?
  4. I know it was you.
  5. Alright, no problem.

Return to Vergil, where you should say the following:

  1. Yes, and he won’t be bothering you anymore.
  2. I found a treatment…

For successfully negotiating an end to this conflict, you will unlock the Lion Tamer trophy!

Now we need to go to another temple, high above the city. To reach it, head out of the market by walking past the temple toward the archway at the top of a very long stairway.

There, turn left and head up the stairs. Follow these stairs all the way to the top.

At the top, turn right and cross the narrow bridge to another set of stairs.

Continue following this linear path and you’ll soon come to another gold statue, this one pushing a large boulder. Approach it as closely as you can before moving on, as it is Underground Explorer Statue 3/4.

Continue on to the front of the temple, where a stranger in a green dress named Octavia will greet you with unavoidable dialogue.

Say the following:

  1. I’m fine, thanks.
  2. I’ll be going now.
  3. Alright, I’ll talk to him.
  4. Go on then… Go ahead. (Bluff)
  5. What happens now?

When the dialogue ends, look at the floor and interact with the graffiti at your feet. This is Graffiti 10/10[/tr], so when you interact with it, you should unlock the Avid Reader trophy!

Now, approach the cliff edge and jump off it, aiming to land in the pool at the center of the villa below. When you land, you will receive the High Diver trophy.

Climb out of the water and speak to the robed NPC there; Quinctious.

Select the following options:

  1. So you’re Quinctius?
  2. You have one green eye, and one blue eye…
  3. I can’t prove it’s you, yet. But I will.
  4. I’ll be going now.

Now turn around and grab the key from next to the front entrance.

Once you have it, head up the stairs and enter the double-doors at the back of the villa.

Inside, you’ll find a crying lady.

Speak to her thusly:

  1. Can we talk?
  2. Why are you locked in this room?
  3. How would you like some help…
  4. I don’t think Malleolus is who he says he is.
  5. Just a hunch. I was hoping we could figure out his true identity together…
  6. I just hate to see a such a beautiful woman…
  7. What do you want?
  8. Actually, I don’t have any questions.
  9. I have some wine right here. (You should have collected this from a chest when instructed earlier in the walkthrough).
  10. According to this bounty letter from Emperor Nero…
  11. Sure, you can have it. Nobody else will ever know. (Lie)
  12. Alright. I’ll be going now.

Return downstairs to speak to Quinctius again. Choose the following:

  1. I want you to withdraw from the election.
  2. Because I know you’re Quinctius…
  3. No, I’m not, fortunately for you.
  4. Not if you withdraw from the election immediately.
  5. I will.

To avoid having the game glitch out on you, it’s best if you wait around for a bit before progressing. Quinctius will have a chat with one of his servants through the door, so just wait for the conversation to end. When you leave, follow the servant until he speaks to Equitia. At that point, it should be safe to progress.

Head up the stairs opposite the villa you just came from and return to the market. Pass all the way through it towards the Roman Bath House.

Just in front of it’s entryway, turn right and go through the doorway at the back of the pillars.

Behind the shrine, low to the ground, there’s a wooden panel blocking a small tunnel you can crouch through. Head inside and follow it into a secret underground area.

Follow the linear tunnel until you reach a large open cave area. In here, you will unlock the Archaeologist trophy.

Continue a little deeper in and speak to the stranger by the fire.

Say the following:

  1. I’m [Your Name].
  2. I’m looking for Khabash.
  3. Pluto. God of the Underworld.
  4. I’ll pass.

Speak to him again when the dialogue ends and choose the following options:

  1. Do you know where I can find a plaque that was removed from the obelisk?
  2. That’s the one.
  3. Alright, then tell me where Khabash is.
  4. I’m with you so far.
  5. What did it say?
  6. What’s in there?
  7. I’ll be going now.

You will now have a key needed to progress. Use the key you received to enter the catacombs where the Quest Marker is.

This is a long linear section with nothing to look out for, so just enjoy the ride until you meet Khabash at the far end of the temple.

Say the following when speaking with him:

  1. I’m [Your Name]. Who are you?
  2. I’m just looking for an Egyptian plaque.
  3. I want to return it to the obelisk.
  4. Thanks.
  5. Do you know where I can find it?
  6. May I have it?
  7. Why?
  8. How so?
  9. The Egyptian Underworld?
  10. So what’s the problem with this plaque?
  11. If you give it to me, I’ll destroy it for you. (Lie)
  12. Please, don’t.
  13. I wish you hadn’t done that.
  14. I’ll be going now.
  15. Definitely
  16. I’ll find a way back up.

Once done, jump down the hole in front of Khabash and collect the Mystery Plaque from under the water.

I recommend making another Manual Save here, which we’ll dub Save #2. This is in case you make a mistake with the Boulder Traps.

Climb out of the water and begin making your way through the temple. There are boulder traps that you can trigger, which look like this:

You will need to find and trigger three of them and avoid taking damage from them to unlock the Nimble trophy. Once you have it, you can stop activating traps on purpose.

If you fail to do this, you can just load Save #2 and give it another shot.

Other than that trophy, there’s nothing to concern yourself with in this temple so just make your way through it until you run into Khabash again. Speak to him as follows:

  1. There’s no need for this to end in violence.
  2. Just hear me out…
  3. There’s no shame in building on the works of people who came before you.
  4. If gods exist, isn’t it possible they each have more than one “true” name?
  5. Isn’t being a good person a worthwhile pursuit, in and of itself?
  6. Even if your beliefs about the afterlife weren’t…
  7. Are you going to abandon a lifetime of good…

After earning Nimble and speaking to Khabash, you can freely leave and return to the main city.

Once outside, I recommend making a manual save. Save #3. This is just in case anything goes wrong in the next steps.

Head to the Market and look for a yellow jar of Silphium Resin on a market stall. Steal it and then leave quickly.

Head out of the market past the temple and then turn right and go down the hill. You’ve broken the Golden Rule by stealing so you’re going to have to avoid taking damage on your way.

Keep the cliffside on your right and follow the path to a campfire. To the right of it, there’s a cave entrance with an enemy in it.

Get past the enemy however you see fit and enter the room beyond. Inside, loot the Old Chest and take the 4,032 Denari.

Once you have it, leave the cave, turn right, and continue following the path. Go past the slums, up the stairs, and into the Time Loop portal that you arrived through. Time will rewind to the moment you originally arrived and you will unlock the Looper trophy.

Speak to Galerius ahead of you again and choose the following:

  1. We’ve had this conversation before.
  2. Your name is Galerius, and you’re…
  3. No problem. I have to go.
  4. Thanks. you seem capable…
  5. Rufius has been threatening Vergil…
  6. I need you to stop Fabia entering the empty shrine…
  7. Tell Malleolus you know his real name…
  8. That’s it! Now go, as fast as you can!

Now, once Galerius runs off down the hill, use the Zipline. This will set us up to earn a trophy later.

After dismounting, return to the market area and give the resin we stole earlier to Lucretia at the waypoint in the temple.

Then, choose the following dialogue:

  1. I heard she got sick earlier, and went to find medicine. (Lie)
  2. I’ll be going now.

After doing this, you will have saved Iulia’s life, thus unlocking the Medic trophy!

So, before we progress now, we need to wait a moment to ensure that Galerius has done everything we asked him to do earlier. Otherwise, we might progress faster than him and trigger a glitch. You can follow Galerius around if you wish, or you can just wait for him at the archway near the end of the market. After he’s done announcing Malleolus’ departure from the election, speak to him and choose the following options:

  1. Just a lucky guess. (Lie)
  2. You’re better off not knowing.

Now, go up the stairs to the temple above Malleolus’ villa and speak to Ulpius, the man whose hanging around with Octavia at the front of the temple. Octavia will interrupt you when you get there, so say the following:

  1. Actually, I really need to talk to Ulpius
  2. Alright, I’ll talk to him.
  3. Is this what Sentilla would want?
  4. You’d never believe me…
  5. Maybe I can help…
  6. I’ve already saved Iulia’s life…
  7. Actually, I do.
  8. No. You’d be free.
  9. Of course.
  10. Here’s your money.
  11. Don’t worry about it.

During the course of that conversation, you will unlock the Counsellor trophy if you said the right things.

After doing that, head all the way back to the market, then follow the path leading back toward the slums and the Time Portal. Follow this path until you reach the narrow bridge leading off to your left.

There, look for a dirt path that goes off just to the right of the bridge. Follow this path to a field at the bottom of the hill.

There, you’ll find Galerius.

Speak to him and select the following options:

  1. What do you need?
  2. Sure. Why not?
  3. I’ll get right on it.

Now, return all the way up to the zipline you used earlier.

Standing at it’s starting point, look down over the water and you’ll see the flower you need atop a stone spire.

Using the Zipline, you will need to let go with but try to time it so that you land on the spire and can collect the flower.

To speed this up, you may want to create a new manual save, Save #4, which you can quickly reload if you mess up to save you the trip back up the hill.

Once you have the flower, don’t jump down yet. Look for a small cave in the cliffside with some plant-life underneath it, floating on the top of the water. Shoot these plants with the Golden Bow to gild them.

Next, jump into the water and swim around to the back of the spire, where you will find Underground Explorer Statue 4/4. Approach it and the Underground Explorer trophy should unlock!

Now you can use the freshly-gilded plants to reach the small cave. In the cave, there’s a treasure chest. Approach it to unlock the Treasure Hunter trophy immediately!

Return to Galerius and say the following:

  1. I have that flower you wanted.
  2. What’s the worst that could happen?
  3. I think you should tell her how you feel, consequences be damned.
  4. Alright.
  5. That’s sweet. I’ll do it.

Now, return to the market area and speak to Equitia. Say the following:

  1. Someone wanted me to give you this flower…
  2. I’m supposed to tell you…
  3. You know already?
  4. What should I tell him?
  5. I’m sure he’ll be happy…
  6. I’ll be going now.

Now you can return to Galerius again to say the following:

  1. I delivered that flower…
  2. She knew it was from you…
  3. I’m listening.
  4. I’ll be going now.

Amidst that conversation, the Match-maker trophy will unlock.

Now, return to the market and speak to the man in the brown tunic called Desius.

Choose the following options:

  1. I took it from the shrine of Diana…
  2. Who are you going to vote for?
  3. I’d like you to vote for Galerius.
  4. Would a gift change your mind?
  5. Fine, here’s three thousand denarii.
  6. I’ll be going now.

Now, go and speak to Equitia. Select the following options to begin the election:

  1. What’s the status of the election?
  2. Can we start the election now?
  3. Holding it early may prevent conflict between the voters.

Equitia will run off, ending the conversation. Follow her around as she gathers everyone and then wait for a vote to be decided.

After the vote, when all the NPCs are returning to their own business, head back towards the market.

As you pass under the archway from the Auditorium, enter the building on your left, where the jail cell is.

Wait near it until the cell unlocks, and you will be guaranteed to receive the Liberator trophy!

IMMEDIATELY, run inside Dulli’s cell and pick up the Greek Plaque from the floor, then get ready to run!

Dulli, the little bugger, is going to steal something, breaking the Golden Rule the moment he is freed, so we need to be quicker than him.

IF YOU ARE QUICKER THAN DULLI:

Run all the way up to the Great Temple, where you met Octavia and saved Ulpius. There, place the four plaques you’ve collected onto the obelisk’s four sides.

This will open the temple door. Head inside quickly and make your way through the temple.

IF YOU ARE NOT QUICKER THAN DULLI:

Racing Dulli to the Great Temple is quite hard now. Following a patch to the game, Dulli forces you to talk to him before you can get the plaque, cutting down your time dramatically.

Fortunately, you can still loop without breaking anything or voiding any trophies. Just go back to the Time Portal, use it, and reset the day. Just make sure you grab the plaque before doing do.

When the day resets, tell Galerius all the same stuff but then make your way to the Great Temple immediately, place the plaques on the obelisk, and head inside.

At each door, you will find yourself in a dialogue window, make sure you select the following options exactly:

  1. Pluto, Father of Riches, grant me an audience.
  2. Hades, Lord of Many, grant me an audience.
  3. Osiris, Lord of Silence, grant me an audience.
  4. Nergal, The Fierce One, grant me an audience.

Before entering the next room, it’s time to make a manual save.

We will dub this as Save #5. Save #5 is an important save, so keep it safe, and don’t forget to create it here.

Upon approaching the man at the back of this room, you’ll unlock the Herculean trophy. You need to select the following dialogue exactly. There’s little to no room for error here:

  1. What is this place?
  2. What was the wager you made?
  3. Let’s talk about something else.
  4. Are you responsible for The Golden Rule?
  5. What do you consider a sin?
  6. It doesn’t seem like you’ve been upholding it, either.
  7. Let’s talk about something else.
  8. That’s all the questions I had.
  9. I’m from the future.
  10. I was hoping you could tell me. (Lie)
  11. Shouldn’t you know this, as the God of the Underworld?
  12. I’d like you to put an end to The Golden Rule.
  13. The Golden Rule is corrupting this city, and ensuring you’ll never win the wager.
  14. Rufius has become so paranoid that he’s jumping at shadows, like Vergil’s sexuality.
  15. That’s all the example I can think of.
  16. How can you expect us to live without sin, if you can’t do it yourself?
  17. You’ve given terrible punishments to hundreds of people, some for minor sins, and some who committed no sins at all.
  18. If our positions were reversed, you wouldn’t want me to punish you for the sins of other people.
  19. No.
  20. What makes your kind superior to mine?
  21. Why does wisdom and technology make you superior?
  22. So you think you’re not obliged to treat us fairly, because you’re more powerful than us?
  23. What was it the Roman Stoics said? “Treat your inferior as you would wish your superior to treat you.”
  24. But didn’t you say Jupiter was your leader? There’s a hierarchy within your kin.
  25. So are you treating humans the way you would wish Jupiter to treat you?
  26. I’m saying: If you can’t follow your own rule, how can you expect humans to?
  27. You’re not a monster. You’re a human, and you made a mistake.
  28. Humans make mistakes. It’s in our nature.
  29. Perhaps he made a mistake too.
  30. Perhaps when you took on human form, you took on some human foibles as well.
  31. We just want to return to the world.
  32. Why?
  33. I’m ready.

As part of the conversation, you will unlock the Silver Tongue trophy for successfully talking your way out of all possible confrontations. If it doesn’t unlock here, you may have chosen some dialogue incorrectly earlier in the playthrough.

After traveling through a portal unavoidably, you’ll arrive at a temple with a guy dressed in modern clothing standing near a campfire ahead of you.

Go forward and speak to him; an NPC named Al. From this point on, you can’t make any mistakes. Just follow the linear ending and you’ll receive the following trophies:

  1. Minimalist
  2. The Oracle
  3. The Canon Ending

Phase One Trophies

Tourist

Use Photo Mode

Missable

Tourist is a very easy trophy to earn! At any point, press to enter photo mode!

Maverick

Skip Galerius's Tour

Missable

When Galerius offers to give you a tour upon entering the Forgotten City for the first time, you will need to refuse his offer until he eventually gives up and leaves, unlocking the Maverick trophy!

Smooth Talker

Get rejected by Aurelia

Missable

In the Forgotten City, an NPC called Aurelia will begin flirting with you, pretty much the moment you speak with her.

To unlock the “Smooth Talker” trophy, simply select the “Not Interested, Sorry” option immediately.

Unhygenic

Pick up the sponge on a stick

Missable

To unlock the “Unhygenic” trophy, you will need to pick up a Sponge Stick item from the floor of the bathhouse behind Vergil’s Shop.

Vergil’s shop is in the main forum, he’s the guy scrubbing “Sinner” graffiti off his wall.

Trickster

Save Fabia's life

Missable

One of the first things you’ll do in the Forgotten City, after inspecting the graffiti in the bathhouse and touching the Sponge on a Stick, is inspect a note at a shrine and then speak to a nearby woman in a yellow dress.

This woman is Fabia, and if you don’t convince her otherwise, she will walk into the shrine and it will collapse on top of her. By saying the following things to her, however, you can convince her to leave:

  1. I’ll get right on it.
  2. Do not go in there!
  3. Just trust me.
  4. Wait, who are you?

When she gets up to run away, the Trickster trophy will unlock!

Allergic

Die from hornet stings

Missable

To unlock the “Allergic” trophy, you will need to let yourself be killed by a hornet swarm. You can easily do this in the small shrine where you first receive the Golden Bow. Shoot the hornet nest on the ceiling to turn it to gold, dropping it to the ground.

The angry Hornets will begin swarming you. Wait around 2 minutes for them to slowly kill you and you’ll receive the Allergic trophy!

Golden Archer

Gild your first thing

Unmissable

When you have the Golden Bow, shooting things with it will “gild” them; essentially turning them into golden statues of their former selves. This can be used on enemies, a

The Golden Archer trophy will unlock the first time that you use the bow to gild something. Using it on the Hornet’s Nest will not unlock the trophy for some reason, but there are many sections of the game that you would not be able to proceed through without gilding something to walk across, making this a pretty unmissable trophy overall.

Striker

Topple 10 peeled statues by kicking others into them

Missable

The horrifically-named “Peeled Statues” are The Forgotten City’s only enemies. They are the skeletal innards of gilded statues, which have managed to peel off their golden skin and mobilize once more. Horrifying in concept.

To unlock the “Striker” trophy, you will need to first Gild a Peeled Statue by shooting it with arrows from the Golden Bow until it is immobilized again. Then, you need to kick a Gilded enemy into a non-gilded enemy. This will topple them both, leaving them on the ground for a moment.

Repeat this a total of 10 times while working your way through the Palace and underground tunnel sections of the game and you’ll receive the Striker trophy.

Survivor

Survive the Palace

Missable

By following along this The Forgotten City Trophy Walkthrough, you will unlock this Survivor trophy at the end of the Palace Section, after helping Naevia with the Half-Peeled Statue.

Bloodless Shadow

Learn the true identity of the stranger by the river

Missable

To unlock the Bloodless Shadow trophy, you need to help Equitia by questioning most of the people in the city until you progress her quest. You will need to ask each one “What’s your story?” and “How did you end up here?”

Make sure you first speak to Equitia to start the quest before beginning to quiz everyone.

Once the quest progresses, you can speak to Equitia again and she’ll tell you to meet her in the Roman Baths.

There, at the far end of a long pool, you’ll both discuss a character’s true identity, unlocking the Bloodless Shadow trophy in the process.

Lion Tamer

Solve Vergil's problem

Missable

Speaking to Vergil at the market, you will learn that he is being harrassed by someone homophobic. By checking Rufius’ living quarters in the Slums, you can discover a half-written note which acts as damning evidence.

Before speaking to Rufius, though, help Lucretia inside the temple at the market to find a rheumatism treatment. Once you have that, bring it to Rufius.

After giving him the treatment, speak to him about his harassment of Vergil, presenting the evidence in the process. He will back down and promise to stop. Return to Vergil with the good news, and the questline will end, unlocking the Lion Tamer trophy!

The easiest way to earn this trophy is simply by following along with this The Forgotten City Trophy Walkthrough.

Avid Reader

Read 10 different grafitti

Missable

Collectible

To unlock the “Avid Reader” trophy, you just need to find 10 Graffiti tags hidden about the Forgotten City. There are many more than 10 so it’s quite simple to find them if you choose to do so on your own. However, if you’re following along with the Trophy Walkthrough we’ve provided here, then you’ll know exactly where and when to collect Graffiti tags and collect the Avid Reader trophy in your first playthrough!

High Diver

Enter Malleolus's villa with a daring leap

Missable

In the Forgotten City, there’s a locked villa that you cannot enter called Malleolus’s Villa.

One way inside, however, is to jump into it from above. High up on the cliff above Malleolus’s Villa, there’s a temple where you can meet an NPC called Octavia.

From the front of that temple, you can jump directly down into the pool at the center of Malleolus’s Villa. Upon landing in the water, the High Diver trophy will unlock!

Archaeologist

Discover what lies beneath the city

Missable

Near the Roman Bath House at the end of the market, to the right of its entryway, you will find the floor to a shrine, behind some marble pillars.

Inside said shrine, at the back-right corner, you’ll find a small secret tunnel that leads underground. By following the linear tunnel into the large cave it feeds into, you’ll unlock the Archaeologist trophy inside.

Nimble

Dodge 3 boulders

Missable

After meeting Khabash and jumping down a hole after the Mysterious Plaque, you’ll need to make your way through an underground temple. In this temple, there are large round buttons you can step on to activate boulder traps.

When you step on one, the screen will shake violently and a boulder will roll towards you, quite slowly. Step out of the way and wait for the boulder to stop rolling before moving on.

To unlock the Nimble trophy, step on, activate, and avoid a total of three Boulder Traps in this section.

Looper

Loop through time once

Most endings will require you to use the Time Portal to reset the day at least once.

You’ll first do it in our walkthrough after stealing a bottle of Siphilum Resin, breaking The Golden Rule.

Upon using the Time Portal to reset the day for the first time, you will unlock the Looper trophy.

Medic

Save Iulia's life

Missable

To save Iulia’s life, you need to get some Siphilum Resin and give it to Lucretia in the temple at the market.

She will then be able to use it to save Iulia, unlocking the Medic trophy!

The easiest way to get your hands on some Siphilum Resin is to just steal it from a stall in the market.

Once it’s in your inventory, The Golden Rule will be broken, bringing the day to an end. So you’ll need to rush to the Time Portal and use it to reset the day.

Once done, you’ll still have the Resin in your inventory and can take it to Lucretia!

Counsellor

Save Ulpius's life

Missable

Ulpius is an NPC who unfortunately takes his own life when you meet Octavia at the Great Temple.

He can’t be saved immediately, but after Time Looping and learning more about his story, you will unlock important dialogue options that can save his life. The complex steps required for achieving this feat are laid out clearly in the walkthrough section at the top of this phase. It would be much easier for you to simply follow the walkthrough than to try and figure this trophy out separately, so please do that.

Once you save Ulpius some time after your first Time Loop, you’ll unlock the Counsellor trophy.

Underworld Explorer

Discovering Underworld icons Sisyphus, Tantalus, Ixion and the Belide

Missable

Collectible

In The Forgotten City, there are four golden statues of historical figures that you can find. They are spread out across the city in a variety of different places, so your best bet is to follow the Walkthrough at the top of this phase, within which I have described the locations of each statue, so that you cannot miss them along the way through this playthrough.

Treasure Hunter

Find treasure using the golden bow

Missable

After using the Zipline for the first time, you can speak to Galerius to get a new Side Quest from him. He wants you to get him a flower.

Return to the Zipline and look down over the water below, you’ll see the flower atop a stone spire in the water. Press with good timing while riding the Zipline to drop down onto the Stone Spire.

While up there, look for a small cave in the cliffside to your left. Inside it, you’ll be able to see a small chest.

Shoot the plant-life on the water below the cave with the Golden Bow to gild it. You will now be able to climb up onto the gold plants from the water and then clamber up to the treasure from there.

Inside the cave, the Treasure Hunter trophy will unlock immediately, even if you don’t open the chest!

Match-maker

Help Galerius romance Equitia

Missable

After receiving the Zipline handle from Galerius, and using the zipline once, you will need to speak to Galerius again to start a Side Quest that results in you matching him up with Equitia. Here’s the relevant extract from the above walkthrough:

…back to the market, then follow the path leading back toward the slums and the Time Portal.

Follow this path until you reach the narrow bridge leading off to your left. There, look for a dirt path that goes off just to the right of the bridge. Follow this path to a field at the bottom of the hill.

There, looking over the water, you’ll find Galerius.

Return to Galerius and say the following:

  1. I have that flower you wanted.
  2. What’s the worst that could happen?
  3. I think you should tell her how you feel, consequences be damned.
  4. Alright.
  5. That’s sweet. I’ll do it.

Return to the market area and speak to Equitia. Say the following:

  1. Someone wanted me to give you this flower…
  2. I’m supposed to tell you…
  3. You know already?
  4. What should I tell him?
  5. I’m sure he’ll be happy…

Now you can return to Galerius again to say the following:

  1. I delivered that flower…
  2. She knew it was from you…
  3. I’m listening.
  4. I’ll be going now.

Amidst that conversation, the Match-maker trophy will unlock.

Liberator

Have Duli released from his cell

Missable

Unlocking the Liberator trophy is quite difficult. You will need to save everyone you can and secure Galerius’ position as winner of the election. As there are so many moving parts involved in this, you should follow the Walkthrough for this phase in its entirety to ensure you don’t make a single mis-step.

Once the vote ends and Galerius is declared winner, go to Dulli’s Jail Cell in the large building at the market to be there for his freeing.

As soon as he’s a free man, the Liberator trophy will unlock!

Not long after that, the ungrateful Dulli will steal something, breaking the golden rule and bringing the day to an end, forcing you to use the Time Loop portal again.

Herculean

Confront the creator of The Golden Rule

Story-Related

Upon entering the throne room in the Great Temple where the God of the Underworld is waiting, the Herculean trophy will unlock.

Silver Tongue

Talk your way through every possible confrontation

Missable

It is possible to complete The Forgotten City without ever getting into a combat encounter with another human being. That’s exactly what you will need to do in order to earn the Silver Tongue trophy. Essentially, each time that you’re met with conflict you will need to talk your way out of it by selecting the right dialogue options at every opportunity.

Fortunately, I’ve clearly marked the correct dialogue choices for every conversation in this playthrough as part of the walkthrough above. By following along in this phase of our The Forgotten City Trophy Guide and Walkthrough, you will be guaranteed to unlock this after your encounter with the God of the Underworld.

Minimalist

Reach the best ending with the smallest number of loops

Missable

The Minimalist trophy will unlock at the end of your first playthrough. Our objective in this phase is to both reach the game’s good ending and complete it without getting into human combat encounters and with as few time loops as possible. Therefore, if you don’t have this by the end of this playthrough, then a mistake has been made somewhere and you should review the walkthrough.

The Oracle

Assemble as many people as possible in the Museum

Missable

The hidden objective behind the “The Oracle” trophy is to save as many people as possible. As you will be saving practically everyone in pursuit of the Minimalist trophy, you will unlock The Oracle alongside it as part of this first playthrough without any additional effort.

The Canon Ending

Reach Ending 4 of 4

Missable

The Canon Ending is also known as Ending 4 of 4. It is the first ending we aim for during this phase of our The Forgotten City Trophy Guide & Walkthrough, so should be the first of the four ending trophies that you earn!

It is by far the most difficult and long-winded ending to achieve, but we’re fortunately getting it out of the way early.

Phase Two | The One That Got Away

After achieving Ending 4 of 4 and unlocking The Canon Ending, we can focus on one of the other endings, The One That Got Away. Along the way, we’ll acquire a handful more trophies too.

Ordinarily, this would require a full extra playthrough, but as we made a save at a crucial point near the end of the game, we can cut down the time needed for this playthrough dramatically.

After the credits have rolled and you’re returned to the title screen, select Load Game and load Save #5, the one we made before the final room after activating the obelisk.

Enter the doorway ahead of you where the God of the Underworld’s throne is. Approach him but do not speak to him. Instead, pull your bow out and shoot the girl in the glass tank on the right.

This will break The Golden Rule, so quickly run over and pick up her crown before quickly evacuating.

Run all the way back to the Time Portal and enter it. This will perform a Time Loop.

Next, you need to return to the Great Temple and speak to the God of the Underworld again. Don’t worry about what to tell Galerius, just say anything to end the conversation and then make your way to the Great Temple.

When speaking to the God of the Underworld again, select the brand new dialogue option at the top; “See this? It’s Proserpina’s crown. (Throw).” Followed with the following:

  1. I took it from her, after I killed her, in another timeline.
  2. I could do this all day. End The Golden Rule, or I will.
  3. That’s the idea.
  4. We just want to return to the world.
  5. Why?
  6. I’m ready.

During this exchange, you’ll unlock the Psycho trophy.

As soon as the game allows it, open the Pause Menu and Load your most recent “City” Autosave, which should be somewhere near the Great Temple. Turn around and return to the city. Make your way to the market area.

Head down the long stairs that Equitia likes to hang out at the top of, towards Malleolus’ Villa.

At the bottom, past the tree, go inside the small door leading underground.

Before you can enter, Domitius will stop you. Say the following:

  1. Yes, why?
  2. This all sounds pretty implausible.
  3. That was a great story, but I’m still going down there.

Now turn around and continue into the door.

Inside this underground area, there’s just one enemy. Kill it and then follow the linear path.

Climb the vines up to the upper cistern by gilding them, and then, upon arrival in the main chamber, you will unlock the Italian Plumber trophy!

Right here, before you do anything else, make a new manual save, which I’ll dub Save #6. Once done, speak to the Captive at the center of the room, who has her arms tied up.

Select the following dialogue options:

  1. I’m [Your Name], and nobody sent me.
  2. What is going on here? (Sleuth trophy unlocks.)
  3. Who did this to you?
  4. What will you do if I release you?
  5. What about the others?
  6. I’m letting you go. Let’s get out of here together.

Sentilla will get up and leave. When she does this, just wait. Magistrate Sentius will come down the stairs and begin a dialogue with you. Here are the options you should select:

  1. As if I’d tell you.
  2. Wait, what?!
  3. You’re going to die a painful death for this.
  4. Actually, I was thinking about using this. (Draw gun)
  5. I’m going to put a hole in your head.
  6. This is for Al.

Press to shoot Sentius in the head, and you will receive the Dead Shot trophy, the Golden Rule will also be broken, ending the day.

Before you can do anything else, you’ll be pulled through a time portal and find yourself talking to Al again.

Follow the linear path to the end of the game, and you will there experience Ending 2 of 2, unlocking the The One That Got Away trophy.

Trophies in this phase:

Phase Two Trophies

Psycho

Intimidate the creator of The Golden Rule

Missable

To unlock the difficult-to-reach “Psycho” trophy, you must do the following:

  1. Reach the God of the Underworld’s throne room at the end of the game.
  2. Shoot Proserpina on his right.
  3. Grab her crown from the floor as The Golden Rule breaks.
  4. Quickly retreat back to the Time Portal to reset the day.
  5. Return to the God of the Underworld’s Throne Room.
  6. Throw the crown at him.

The trophy will then unlock during subsequent dialogue. Follow our walkthrough at the top of this phase for more detailed directions.

Italian Plumber

Enter the upper cistern in an unconventional way

Missable

To unlock the Italian Plumber trophy, you need to access the Upper Cistern by first going through the Lower Cistern and climbing up the vines in the pipe.

The entrance to the lower cistern is at the bottom of the long stairs leading down from the market area. When you try to enter it, an NPC will stop you, but the following dialogue options will get you in:

  1. Yes, why?
  2. This all sounds pretty implausible.
  3. That was a great story, but I’m still going down there.

Inside, kill the Peeled Statue and then climb the vines in the large pipe by gilding them with the Golden Bow.

The Italian Plumber Trophy should unlock at the top.

Sleuth

Find all three missing persons

Missable

There are three Missing Persons that can be found in The Forgotten City. One of them is Sentilla, who we speak to as part of this playthrough’s ending. The other two are Naevia and Khabash, both of whom you met as part of the first playthrough.

Therefore, if you’ve been following along with our walkthrough, you will receive the Sleuth trophy while talking to Sentilla in the Upper Cistern.

Dead Shot

Free the captive and shoot her captor in the face

Missable

To unlock the Dead Shot trophy, you need to shoot Magistrate Sentius in the head, killing him. This is possible only after meeting Sentilla in the Upper Cistern. Say the following to her:

Magistrate Sentius will come down the stairs and begin dialogue with you.

After shooting Sentius in the head, you will receive the Dead Shot trophy, and the Golden Rule will be broken, ending the day.

You will only have the gun if you selected the Covert Mission backstory as we instructed at the start of the game.

The One That Got Away

Reach Ending 2 of 4

Missable

The One That Got Away, also known as Ending 2 of 4, requires you to free Sentilla and then continue on to the ending. To reach Sentilla, it’s best to earn the Italian Plumber trophy by climbing up from the Lower Cistern. Then, you should earn the Dead Shot trophy after freeing Sentilla by shooting Sentius.

All of these steps are covered in the walkthrough for this phase, so I advise following it.

Phase Three | The Ones That Got Away

Once you’re back at the title screen after earning The One That Got Away, select “Load Game” again and then reload Save #6 in the Upper Cistern. This should bring you back to before you spoke to Sentilla.

Speak to her again, this time with these dialogue selections:

  1. I’m [Your Name], and nobody sent me.
  2. What is going on here?
  3. Where is the way out?
  4. Who did this to you?
  5. What will you do if I release you?
  6. What about the others?
  7. What if I round everyone up so they’re ready to escape, once The Golden Rule is broken?
  8. I’m sorry, but if I let you go, everyone else is going to die.
  9. It’s too dangerous. Let me see if I can persuade Sentius to let us go.
  10. I’m sorry. I need to try.

Turn around and backtrack down the pipe, through the Lower Cistern, and back to the city.

When you leave the small door leading to the Cistern, press and create a new Manual Save; Save #7, we’ll use this later.

Go up the stairs immediately to your left, which will lead you up to Malleolus’ Villa. Go through the front door.

Turn left and climb up to the second floor.

At the top, open the double doors behind which Malleolus’ Wife can be heard sobbing.

Draw your bow, and kill Malleolus’ Wife. Immediately after doing so, open the chest in the room and loot the contents.

After taking everything inside the chest, you will unlock the Grave Robber trophy.

Obviously, now that you’ve broken The Golden Rule you’ll need to use the Time Loop Portal, but that’s all part of the plan. Use the portal to reset the day.

Speak to Galerius as usual, and select the new option: The Golden Rule is going to be broken soon. I need you to quietly get everyone except Sentius ready to run into the upper cistern when the ground starts to rumble.

Now, return to the Upper Cistern to speak with Sentilla again.

The quickest route is as follows:

  1. Ride the zipline.
  2. Cross the narrow bridge.
  3. Pass by Horatius near the Fountain.
  4. Pass by the stairs to the villa.
  5. Turn right and enter the small door to the Cistern.
  6. Tell Domitius “I know about your creature.”
  7. Follow the linear path through the Lower Cistern to the climbable vines.
  8. Climb up to the Upper Cistern.

Inside, speak to Sentilla again and choose the following options:

  1. I’m [Your Name], and nobody sent me.
  2. I know. We’ve had this conversation before.
  3. I’ve told Galerius to lead everyone here when the Golden Rule is broken, so they can escape too.

Sentius will enter the room as before, speak to him thusly to keep him distracted:

  1. As if I’d tell you.
  2. Wait, what?!
  3. You’re going to die a painful death for this.
  4. I probably could, but I’m going to let her have this one.

After a short sequence of events, you’ll be ripped through a portal again. Once again, follow the linear path to the game’s credits, where you’ll earn another Ending Trophy; The Ones That Got Away.

Trophies in this phase:

Phase Three Trophies

Grave Robber

Steal 2000 coins after the Golden Rule is broken

Missable

To unlock the Grave Robber trophy, you need to first break The Golden Rule (kill someone) and then steal 2000 coins or more after doing so.

The easiest place to do this, by far, is in Malleolus’ Villa. His wife can be found closed up in a room on the second floor of the villa.

In that same room, there’s a chest containing more than enough coins.

Simply kill Malleolus’ Wife with the Golden Bow, and then loot the chest next to her and take all of its contents.

The Ones That Got Away

Reach Ending 3 of 4

Missable

The Ones That Got Away, also known as Ending 3 of 4, requires you to do the following:

  1. Speak to Sentilla to get information on how to save everyone.
  2. Reset the day via the Time Portal.
  3. Tell Galerius to gather everyone near the Upper Cistern.
  4. Return to Sentilla and tell her the plan.
  5. Help Sentilla kill Sentius.

All of these steps are covered in the walkthrough for this phase, so I advise following it.

Phase Four | The Many Shall Suffer, plus Cleanup

Once the credits have rolled for the third time and you’ve got The Ones That Got Away nestled firmly into your collection, it’s time to tackle a few more Misc Trophies before we go for the easier ending, which is undoubtedly the bad one.

Start by loading Save #7 which I had you make after leaving the Lower Cisterns earlier. Here, we will mop up a few Miscellaneous trophies before progressing.

The first we’ll tackle is the one for lying 10 times. If you’ve followed our walkthrough closely, you probably don’t have it yet, unless you did a lot of lying during the market interrogation.

From where we saved, go up the stairs next to Horatius.

Continue climbing stairs until you reach the balcony with Sentius on it.

Speak to him and then select the following:

  1. I’m [Your Name].
  2. It’s beautiful.
  3. Can’t say I have.

Then, speak to him again, selecting the following:

  1. I was hoping to ask you some questions about my investigation…
  2. What did you mean when you said Proserpina sent me?
  3. Uh, yes I do. (Lie)
  4. I didn’t see anything. (Lie)

You can then repeat this same dialogue again, successfully lying twice each time you do. Repeat until you unlock the Fibber trophy!

Once you’ve got that, make your way back to the slums. Here, we’re going to farm the Kleptomaniac trophy.

Open a chest, such as the one in the small house to the left of the Slums entrance, and steal the contents. The Golden Rule will break and you’ll have to run to the Time Portal to reset the day.

Once the day resets, saunter back down the hill, steal something again, and then retreat back to the portal.

Rinse and repeat until the Kleptomaniac trophy unlocks and then keep going.

Why do you need to keep going? Well, to unlock Super Looper, you’ll need to loop through time 10 times. As you can’t loop through time without first breaking the Golden Rule, you’ll need to steal or kill someone between each loop anyway. So, keep it up until you unlock the Super Looper trophy. Then you can stop.

If you wanna get through each loop quicker, you could just shoot Galerius in the head with the Golden Bow from inside the shrine. Then you just wait for Sentius to come and open the portal.

Now, this final ending is very easy to earn, but to ensure that you earn Law Abiding Citizen you will need to reach it from a New Save. So, return to the Title Screen and create a New Game.

Select the Covert Mission backstory again and then make your way to the Forgotten City.

Head back over to the Market and towards the Roman Bath House at the far end. As you approach, Fabia will ask you for help.

We don’t want to save her this time, so when you speak to her, select the following:

  1. How is this my problem?
  2. Just callous. Good luck!

She’ll run into the shrine and it’ll collapse on her. She will die, but you will receive the Callous trophy.

Next, go to Sentius and shoot him in the head with your handgun.

This will obviously break The Golden Rule, ending the day. But since Sentius can no longer activate the Time Portal, the game will come to an abrupt end.

Follow the same old linear path to the credits, where you’ll receive the The Many Shall Suffer trophy, the final ending trophy.

You should also receive the Platinum Trophy for your efforts. Bravo.

Unmissable Story Trophies

Fibber

Lie 10 times

Missable

Sometimes, when you are speaking to an NPC, you can select an option which says “(Lie)” next to it, indicating that you’re being untruthful if you choose that option.

To unlock the “Fibber” trophy, you just need to do this 10 times. Many of the same dialogue options can be repeated, so it’s possible to just repeat the same lie to the same NPC over and over. This is exactly how it’s earned as part of our Walkthrough, in which we spam the same two lies at Sentius until the trophy unlocks.

Kleptomaniac

Trigger The Golden Rule by stealing 5 times

Missable

In The Forgotten City, when you commit a sin, the “Golden Rule” will be broken, and the day will reset. Hopefully, this is a concept you’re well versed in by this point in the trophy journey.

One such sin that can break the rule is to steal. A pretty dumb way to end the world, don’t you think?

Well, you need to do it a total of 5 times to unlock the Kleptomaniac trophy.

Each time that you do it, you will need to sprint up to the Time Portal and reset the day.

Naturally, due to its proximity to the Time Portal, the Slums is the best place to farm this trophy.

Super Looper

Loop through time ten times

Cumulative

To unlock the Super Looper trophy, you need to use the Time Portal to reset the day a total of 10 times. As it’s possible to beat the game in less than 10 loops, especially when following our walkthrough, you’ll need to farm a few extra loops.

Fortunately, you can just use the same farming method as used for Kleptomaniac.

Callous

Allow Fabia to die in the collapsing temple

Missable

You may recall how one of the first things we did in your very first playthrough was to save Fabia from entering an unstable temple, and then trick her pursuer to go inside in her stead.

To unlock the Callous trophy, you actually need to let her die in the Shrine.

To do so, approach her location near the Roman Bath House at the market, and then when she speaks to you, select the following:

  1. How is this my problem?
  2. Just callous. Good luck!

She’ll run into the shrine and it’ll collapse on her. She will die, but you will receive the Callous trophy.

The Many Shall Suffer

Reach Ending 1 of 4

The Many Shall Suffer, also known as Ending 1 of 4, is the easiest ending to reach. You simply need to do the following:

  • Choose the Covert Mission backstory at the start of the game.
  • Enter the Forgotten City.
  • Shoot Galerius in the head with the gun.
  • Wait for Sentius on the stairs.
  • Shoot him before he can activate the portal.

The screen will then go white and you can follow the linear sequence of events leading up to the credits, where you’ll earn this trophy.

Law Abiding Citizen

Finish the game without looping through time once

Missable

The only ending you can reach without a Time Loop is The Many Shall Suffer. Ensuring you’re starting from a New Game, select the Covert Mission Backstory and then follow the steps for The Many Shall Suffer. If done correctly, you will unlock the Law Abiding Citizen trophy!
